I've never much understood the Canadian broadcast rules but how can one station complain that another is now in competition with them. Isn't that the point? Wouldn't it be like ABC complaining that CBS is now in competion with it?

I seem to remember something about how a certain percentage of the programs carried by a station had to be Canadian produced but since I'm in the US I don't remember the details. Could that be the source of this complaint

when they actually do play videos now, they're the same ones over and over, it's like they can't play any video from before the year 2000...

If ONLY someone could accuse MTV of that in the states. I think the percentage here is 4.2, and even then most of them are played while screaming TRL live fans say inane things like "Yeah, Backstreet Boys rock my world! Woooo!" (this over, say, a U2 video)

How about they send some of their excess videos down here to the states? We need them. At least the GOOD ones, anyway...
