I have two friends without TV. One doesn't have a TV at all while the other has a set, but only uses it to watch TV and play video games on. Personally, I didn't have "cable" TV until about 5 years ago. I didn't have a cell phone until about a year ago.

Let's see...

I myself don't have a cell phone, nor do I want one after seeing all the problems that people who do have them go through constantly. Too many headaches.

A friend of mine has a TV, but recently got rid of cable. Partially by accident (he didn't know he'd be losing his local channels when dumping digital cable), but either way he's in no rush to get it back because he's been getting other stuff finished finally. Didn't really much watch anyway, deciding to just wait for DVD and such. The one times we watched more than an hour of TV a day is whenever I was visiting. Said he may check out Dish Network at some point, but not anytime soon.

My grandparents lack the Internet, computer, and cable TV and have a simple 20-inch TV with built-in DVD, which they only got maybe 6 or 7 years ago. My grandmother started to get cable about ten years ago, but found out there was some kind of situation with her line that would have added more work and cost, so she cancelled it and has never gotten around to trying to get it again. She does have a CD player, which she finally bought about three years ago.

I don't have a cell phone. I despise talking on the phone a lot, and wouldn't bother using it while I'm out, anyway. It's a waste of money for me, and I don't want to have to pay for it.

I don't have a cell phone. I had one for about a month and then got rid of it due to hearing about all the crap they can do to your health.

I don't have a cell phone, and I use my Xbox as a DVD player so I'm not sure it that counts or not. I had a freind that had the internet and a lousy computer but now he lives in an apartment with his family and he dosen't have a computer (Knowing his family they probably broke it as a punishment) and he has no internet, however he got himself an IPOD. And yes that is how they punish him, at one point his +400 pund mother broke 4 or 5 of his video game discs!

I didn't own a cell phone until four months or so ago, but now I have one instead of a landline and prefer it. I'm not chatty and don't talk on it much, but it's very handy because I don't have to be tied to or wait by the phone for the calls I do get. I'm a reporter and I have to be available if editors have questions about my stories. Before I was kind of tied down in the evenings because I had to at least check in, but now I can be out and about and not worry about missing their calls.

It's also great for arranging nights out with friends. If something goes wrong you can call them on the fly.

Without cable, I just watch DVDS. I do miss some of my old shows, though, like Mythbusters.

I know a lot of people who don't have cable or, sadly, the internet. I often am used as a vessel for using the interweb. These fingers aren't always my own. Or wait... they are. My words aren't. Oh phooey, that's coming out right. And like the majority of people above, I don't have a cell. No use for it. I avoid telephones. >_<

If you're talking about in general, then yeah, I know millions of people in the world don't.

My mom has no computer. Doesn't even know how to work one. And for a long while, she didn't have cable.

I don't have cable. Netflix is cheaper and has a wider selection of stuff I actually want to watch. I do miss X-Play, but the only other show I really wanted cable for was the Daily Show, and now I get that from iTunes. Everything else I'd watch on TV will get a DVD release eventually, and I'm willing to be patient in order to save some money.

I also don't have a cell. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I've wished I had one; usually if someone I'm with doesn't have one I can use, there's a pay phone handy. I'm sure I'll get one eventually, but in the meantime I just can't justify it to myself.

I don't have cable, but that's because there's little I want to watch these days and thus the service isn't worth the cost. I have all of the other things listed, although I don't really use my cell phone much and could easily live without it (especially now that many traditional phone companies have plans that are similar to cell phone plans; I originally used my cell because it was a cheaper option for long distance calling).

Because of university screw ups, I don't have the internet at the moment. I just got a UK cell phone yesterday because it was getting a little scary. It's my first one (the other was a loan). I also don't have a TV or cable, since it costs £131 now for a tv license. The only CD/DVD players that I have are built into my comp.

I've had cable a couple of times but I've been moving a lot and don't have it where I am now.

I can't believe you didn't include i-pods! It seems everyone has two, but not me - they're too damn expensive!

No one in my family had a cell phone until about a year ago. My parents finally got a new computer to replace the one they had since I was in middle school last Christmas (I'm 22 now). The Christmas before that, my parents got their first DVD player.
