honestly?
the only reason i'm watchin JL is for Batman. it just doesn't seem to be interesting without him in it. anyone know which episode will be his 'spotlight ep', btw?
i don't wanna offend JL fans, but the series seems too corny and i wouldn't watch it if Batman wasn't involved somehow, even if he's in it for a mere 5 minutes each episode.

Cause I've been waiting years for a JLA type show in Bruce Timm's animated style. (amoung too many other things to list) :)

Three reasons

1.BATMAN!!!

2. I think it's interesting how the voice for Flash plays Lex Luthore on one show and can be be the sweet smart ass that we know and love on another.

3. Quote from flash "Dibs on the Amazon."

"It's a signal watch- call me if you need any more help." Superman flies away- Batman turns to look at the burning building, then down at the watch.

"...Right."

I watch it for lines like that!

ahh..batman's memorable lines...

I'd still watch Justice League..probably not as religiously had batman not been in ANY of the episodes, but, yeah, Batman is my number one reason for watching it..

Cuz it's Bruce Timm. I like Batman, but I also like Superman, and I've been waiting a long to see an animated Wonder Woman too. I used to love watching Superfriends as a kid, or course they look cheesy now. :p So this new take on JL was very appealing. Overall it's a very good show and that's why I keep watching JL. ;)

For all the reasons listed above and well, because I'm a big Wonder Woman fan.

I'm not exactly thrilled that the lasso isn't anything other than unbreakable  I still can't wait for tonight to get a good taste for the animated WW.

Batman's probably one of the last reasons I watch it. For me, it's the guys we haven't seen two billion plus times. Guys like the Flash, J'onn, Diana, GL, and Hawkgirl. And I've always been a huge fan of the Justice League in general, it's just awesome to see 'em in animation. So, Batman or no, I'll always watch it.

I watch it because I love superhero cartoons and I also like Bruce Timm's style. Batman is my favorite character but I also like the rest of the character. Especially Hawkgirl. :D

Batman80,

You changed your handle. Hope you cleared it with Hawkgirl first. :)

Does anyone know if Paradise Lost is first-run tonight? I plead ignorance here. Thanks in advance.

I've been a fan of superhero teams since watching the SuperFriends as a kid, thus my handle. Yeah I'm 36. For my birthday, WB is giving me the Static Shock/Batman episode and CN is giving me the Batman/Superman marathon. Not Bad.

Superfriends as a kid.
JLofA as a teen.
JLI while in college.
now JLA and JL.

I've been a fan of the JLA, JSA, All Star Squadron, Legion of Super Heroes, Titans, Young Justice, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Iron Man(he had a team on his show too), Xmen. But the Justice League in its many forms has always been closest to my heart. :yakko:

4. I'm a BatmanandSuperman fan.
3. I alwaywanted a new SuperFriends type show.
2.I like seeing John Stewart as Green Lantern in JL.

1: Because I get to see and hear Kevin Conroy's Batman on my TV screen again (other then the reruns of the old shows, of course).

2: Characters like Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, Flash, Green Lantern, and Jonn Jonzz being brought to my TV screen.

3: The concept.

4: The decent writing and execution of said concept.

5: It's better then anything on Monday Night nowadays (including the stuff on Raw, and this is a HUGE wrestling fan speaking)

hmm.
all good reasons.

yet the voice-acting of wonder-woman does detract from the show a bit, i gotta say. i dunno, i'm still gonna watch it n everything, but i hope it just doesn't try to tell too big of a story and miss out on some serious character-development (eg. Secret Origins). if i recall, Timm said the hollywood-esque eps were done with, and the rest were gonna be different...?

well, maybe i'm just in Batman-denial... :p

my reason(s) for watchin JL:
1) Batman, for many reasons. he's got much more of an interesting story behind him, he's a very intricate and complex character (and u can squeeze a helluva lot of stories outta him), plus he's only human. he's the only one without superpowers and he still ends up saving Superman in the pilot episode of he series. i'd also like to see more rebellious attitudes/mood swings from him too, cos they're just fun to watch :) it also helps when Bats' voice actor is spot-on perfect. Kevin Conroy is a genius. also to see if anything fom past Batman animated series' will be mentioned or hinted at.

hmm, i think that's pretty much it. now for some reasons why i wouldn't watch JL:
1) Superman. imo, his animated series was a tad boring for me. the impression i get when i think of Supes, is that of a boy scout. he's too perfect and righteous to be likeable. i guess that's why i dig Batman, cos he's just all messed up. why? he's only human, so in that respect, u sympathise with him a lot more, whatever his emotional situation may be at the time.
2) big, epic plots reminiscent of big live-action hollywood blockbusters. this is sorta good and bad. good cos it allows the series to traverse wherever it wants to, bad cos it's not self-contained, eg. Gotham or Metropolis.
3) poor voice-acting. while Wonder Woman may be a fav with fans from the old-school generation of JLA-ers (sp?), she seems too one-dimensional with the treatment her voice-actor is giving her (Eisenberg i believe? any relation to Marty the writer/story editor?) and while I am slowly getting intrested with re-runs of the late 70's 'New Adventures' series of WW currently screening in the 'primemtime!' timeslot of 3.30am on channel 9 here in Australia, she too is coming off as girl-scoutish. i guess i'll have to wait for the spotlight episode, as with the rest of the JL crew.
GL's v/actor, Phil LaMarr i think? the same guy who voices Static Shock (and used to make me bust my nut laughing @ him on MadTV) is probably a tad mis-cast as John Stewart. Phil's voice in real-life is more closer to what Static sounds 'stead of GL. the baritone in his voice sounds too forced and makes him sound corny at times.
Flash, his voice has got that comical tinge to it, but he needs some better lines cos i haven't really as much as chuckled at his 'antics'. probly the 'dibs on the amazon' remark and his attempt to pick up Hawkgirl put a smile on my face, but nothing worth laughing about.
Hawkgirl's fine. i have no qualms about her. she needs more development. i can definitely see a nice background story for her about her war-like world and what-not.
Jonn's voice is spot-on. sounds very martiany (sp?), like an educated-sounding extraterrestrial, yknowhatimean?
Superman's fine. despite the change in voice-actor's i can't really tell much of a difference. perhaps it woulda been nice to keep the old one to provide some continuity (imagine Batman's voice changing!)

well! this was all just first-impression. i trust things can only get better from here. i really liked the Enemy Below two-parter. i actually physically cringed when Aquaman cut his hand off, and when he was getting the hook melded onto his wrist. gruesome, even tho u don't get to see it. but i guess it's like what they say about nudity and getting turned on: that usually a fully-clothed woman has more sexual impact than a totally nude one. how that relates to JL?.......i forgot.
hehe :bosko:

Aaanyway. hope this can generate some discussion?

(sorry in advance if i sounded too harsh on the show. i'll be happy when the Batman spotlight ep comes :))

Well...before ever seeing JL, I was going to watch for GL & Batman....

Now it's just Batman.

The only part of last nights ep were the two Batman scenes.
The rest stunk.
I hate Wonder Woman (this was even before the show...it's not JUST a voice thing) Never been a huge Flash fan, am indiffrent on J'onn J'onz and Superman...well...he's boring.

Aquaman was cool, I liked him.

*sigh*

I watch it because I love the DCU. Also, I'm a big fan of Wonder Woman and couldn't wait to see Bruce Timm animate her. Personally, I don't need Batman in the episode to enjoy it myself. Batman has been so over-done it's ridiculous. I love B:TAS and it's what hooked me on Timm to begin with but I'd like to see other heroes get center stage like Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. They're really why I watch the show. To see these five in action is just awesome.

1. Batman
2. The Flash
3. Superman
4. A cartoon that I enjoy to watch is on and it's NEW
5. It's nicely done
6. Not that many commercials are shown on it here
7. Bird_Boy reminds me when it's coming on. :p
