Well I have one pic of the game so far. Its nothing really. I've gotten the game to the title screen before it crashes. Anyone know how to post pics here?? As soon as I figure it out. I'll post it.

Well I got the game running. Unfortunately, the game skips right past the video files without playing them. I'm working on it though. I'll keep everyone posted.

Are you trying to ultimately get this on tape?
Years ago I asked a friend who works at what you might call an 'underground' video store if anyone had ever duped the Sega CD animation on to video tape and he had never heard of it. There would be a big market out there, I think, for the 'lost' BTAS episode. And I doubt that it'll ever turn up as an 'extra' on the animated dvds.

Am I trying to get it on tape and also in some sort of media format for computer so all us at WF can share in it.

SSNTails have you had any luck on your end trying to get the movie files to play??

Tim Drake

Well I got a Sega CD system today. Unfortunately I do NOT have the audio video cables or the AC adaptor for it. Once I buy these online I should be able to capture the video files for the game. I've given up on emulators.

Cool! I get all psyched whenever I see one of these threads pop up again. This should be really great to see. Thanks Tim! :D

Hello!

I also have this game. Even though I had a Genesis prior to getting this game, I went out and bought a cheap second hand Sega CD recently - it was really cool.

I could very easily copy the animations from the game onto a video tape for you guys, but I can't convert it into an AVI, MPG, MOV, or any file like that.

Hmmm.

I won't spoil them for any of you guys, though - it's pretty cool stuff, though. :-)

Hmmm well I have pic on www.auctionwatch.com now but I can't get the pic to display still. When I tried it just posted a link to www.auctionwatch.com where my pic was available but my account was open access as well!

That is probably because you were logged in. I just tried following one of my images to my account and it didn't work. Just make sure to leave a link to just the pic file.

All I get is a site telling me to log into AuctionWatch. I don't use the site to upload pictues so i'm not sure why it won't work.

Are you linking to the pic file? Not to the page of thumbnails but the actual file? If you still have problems email it to me and I'll post it here...check your PM for my email addy.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. The wonderful people at Cox don't know how to run an Internet service. I've had on and off connection for the past month, and they have no real customer service. Anywho now that I'm done ranting.

I finished the game!! I cheated by I have seen all the movie files and have bitmaps of almost every different scene cut. Still haven't found a way to convert the game files to media files yet. But I'm working on it. I promise I'll get some pics online soon, there's some real neat stuff.

Yep, that's TMS. Absolutely perfect.
It's too bad Feat of Clay Part II isn't winning the best episode poll #3- the animation is the crowning achievement for the entire series (by TMS, of course).

Zoddman
02-21-2002, 10:58 AM
yeah, TMS was the best animation studio to do the show. I don't know why they didn't just bypass Don Yang for TMS fulltime on the show. Oh well, probably just scheduling.

WOW....just...wow!

Thank you so much for trying to bring this "lost animation" to the rest of us! I'm really appreciating it!

Hey Zoddman, Timm wanted TMS to do the series, but they opted for Animaniacs instead. Timm described losing them as a crushing blow. They ended up doing a couple Batman eps when Animaniacs was slow to ship.

Excellent! Tim, you know that tons of people have their eyes on this, and as far as I know, this would be the first time all the scenes would be put on the 'net. You're doing us all proud!

I've heard from Tim, and it looks like we may see the videos in a little over a week! Jim and I are excited about this too... so much so that we've asked Tim if we could post the movies on TZ's server, and he's agreed! We'll keep you posted!

I tried to post a few scans from the manual, but Geocities is crap, so I guess I wasted my time. Anyway, according to the credits, this stuff was storyboarded by Kevin Altieri, Curt Geda, among others and the story is by Timm and Dini and written by Dini. A company by the name of Clockwork Tortoise is listed, so I'm assuming that is the animation company. No mention of any other company other than Sega and WB.

All right, I think I got it. The color one is from the back, the other 5 are from the manual. There was another B&W pic of the Batwing, but I forgot about it and didn't feel like going back in and scanning it. Sorry about the moire pattern, but I think you get the gist of it.

Why they never released this as an episode I'll never know. I bet it'll pop up on a DVD someday.

I mean, honestly, how many people even OWN Sega CD's any more, let alone one that works? :-P

I can't wait to see these movies; I'd love to get copies of them in MPG form. :-)

Ha, ha I just got one sealed for a meager $5. I got lucky I suppose. Now, I just need a player. A friend of a friend has one, so it's just a matter of time, now.

Do these movies have spoken dialogue or simply text? I don't recall seeing a cast list in the manual, so I guess not.

TimTwoFace
03-10-2002, 02:23 AM
Oh no, all the original voice actors are on this CD...I can make a list of who appears but that might spoil the storyline. :-)

There's a cast list in the manual, but like stated earlier I'm not going to spoil it. Soon very soon.

Assuming there aren't any lingering copyright issues with Sega, they'd make nifty extras on a BTAS DVD. Maybe in the future?
