View Full Version : Broken Link Brigade

If there's one thing I definitely never have time for (or if I do, I am never bored enough to attempt), it's search the site for broken links to other webpages that no longer exist. If you see a link that leads to a 404 or customized equivalent, get my attention here, because it's sloppy to have those lying around unedited.

I'll just mention this one now: the missing picture of Uncle Ted in the Bobby's World Mother's Day page was missing when I uploaded it. For some reason I saved over that one picture and I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet....

This was the second topic to ever be created on the forum, and I'm bringing it back, because I just noticed today the Mulberry: Artifacting button goes to Franken-Berry. It's probably been that way for weeks and no one told me!

In addition, the 1976 TV Guide article link went nowhere too. Great.

If anyone spots anything else, don't be shy.

This isn't really the same thing, but I am suddenly reminded of something - didn't you write a Mulberry story recently about Michael Eisner? I distinctly remember him creating a clone of himself and calling it Minnie-Me. I looked through the "Mulberry" archives, but I didn't see it there...

That was never really intended to be archived.

The link to "the future of tomorrow, tuh day!" off the mainpage is broken.

Well, that's just great. >_< "Proto-Boxes" got on Metafilter and Stumbleupon last week and racked up HUGE hits for the site. I had no idea none of those people could read the previous article at all.

Anyway, it's fixed now.

The link to the Far East Movement article off the mainpage is broken. It should be http://www.platypuscomix.net/people/geesix.html .

Broken YouTube link at the top of the Hudsucker Proxy review (the Siskel & Ebert link). I get "This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement."

Really, Roger? The originals for all those episodes were destroyed -- you said so yourself.

The Nemi fansite link in the first Nemi article is broken. Luckily it's wayback'd at http://web.archive.org/web/20080423041703/http://nemi.thtn.com/home.php , so all you need to do is substitute the Wayback link.

The link in The Chuck E. Cheese Story (http://platypuscomix.net/kidzone/chucke.html) about how Showbiz Pizza "stole" one of your videos doesn't work, but I found a replacement link:
http://www.showbizpizza.com/videos/ptt/commercials/index.html

You'd probably be better off copying the link as is; the videos won't play on my computer, so I don't see how you can link to that specific one.

EDIT: I got the video to play by downloading it first, but the people cut out the warning tacked onto the beginning of your version.

So on your DC follies page, the game ads link doesn't work. It's moved to a new site entirley, however: http://gameads.gamepressure.com/ .

Of note is that it has over 13,000 ads as of this post.
These two have been corrected now.

Also, I modified the PHP in the E-mail form so people can now enter subject headers. Previously, every single E-mail I've been sent has had the subject line "Feedback Form." It was getting confusing.

Regarding the article about scary logos, I thought you should know that THX has moved their collection of promos to this page: http://www.thx.com/consumer/movies/
I don't know what happened to the Cimarron video, though.
