What's hapend to it?
I was enjoying season 2 of it then .... blam ... some silly show called the Pod comes along and children get to select which show they would like to see. Therefore the Batman didn't come on regularly. And when it did - season 1 repeats!
Even now on the CBBC Channel they are repeating The Batman weekdays at 6pm.
Does anyone know if/when they will start airing season 3 and the rest of Season 2?

The Batman is the only new kids show that I enjoy watching. In my opinion, cartoons peaked sometime during the 90s, and there has been a sharp decline since. So it seems silly that CBBC would treat its best quality show so poorly.

i remember DC cartoons never being treated well on British terrestrial tv.

Superman - they showed a few episodes.
Batman of the Future - showed all of season 1 and some of 2. Came on occasionally.
Batman Animated Series - aired every episode (I think). Never showed the episodes with the updated style (like mystery of the batwiman)
Justice League - Never came on. A few DVD releases.

I guess The Batman will be treated just as poorly.
God bless the BBC and ITV!

Superhero shows are kind of a cheap gimmick in the UK now given the recent succesful trend of films. When Spider-Man and Fantastic Four came out, ITV bought the old 90's series. Fox Kids/Jetix do marathon weekends of the old 90's Marvel shows when related films are released. Most recently, CBBC were so desperate to get in on Superman hype that they gave focus to Krypto.

I think that Krypto The Superdog being the only comics-related animated series being shown with any degree of regularity on UK TV says it all. With all the terrestrial stations, it's clearly a case of the kids' department putting ever-lower caps on their upper age limits. Years ago it went all the way up to about age 18 on the BBC and ITV, whereas now it's about age 8.

Couple that with the fact that modern-day UK broadcasters are scared to death on inadvertently offending anyone with 'violent cartoons', as well as Warner Bros UK seemingly making life difficult for anyone interested in some of their shows (such as Superman: TAS & Batman Beyond season 3, or even the Superfriends series at a stretch), and it all makes for quite a bad mix for us in the UK!

It's costly, but really the only way to watch these shows in a decent manner is to buy the R1 DVD sets (since it seems most other regions get short-changed one way or another).
