Hey Everyone,

You're probably wondering who is this person? Well -- who is it? Its me -- "Dick Grayson". That's right - after 4 years online, I've changed my message board name. But why to this name, you ask? Well - it's my real name. I'm doing this inpart for the Toon Zone News Page. That page has grown in leaps and bounds over the past little while, and I just think this is the next step. I know alot of you may not be pleased with my sudden name change, but this is a decision I wanted to make for myself. My avatar will remain the same, and my board handle will not be in my signature. You can still cal me "DG" if ya want, or Jim. It matters not to me. I just thought, as administrator of the WF Boards and co-creator of World's Finest, it was the right thing to do.

-Jim Harvey

Hi Jim! :)

This might take a little getting used to.

You can still call me DG of Dick or whatever if you like. That's still my nickname, and I'm making sure no one can sign up under my old handle. You can basically call me whichever one you want.

I can already see the "Dammit Jim I'm a doctor not a..." jokes coming from the other mods. :p

Not that I'm interested in changing my name or anything, but how does one go about changing their name at TZ?

For the New Year, Brian Cruz offered to change anyone's username. I mean, I changed mine back in October from Vince to Vincent Benenati. In case anyone wants to, send Brian, Colin or Harley an email or a private message. Only admins can do that.

Jim, you'll always be Dick to me! :D

Sorry, dude. I must learn to control these darned impulses. If you will all excuse me, I'll slink off to a corner and die now. [shame/humiliation ON]

Wow...this is gonna take some getting used to! But, I can see why you want to change your name. As long you keep you avatar the same for a while, I should keep it straight! :)

And Calhoun07 isn't my real name, either. Somebody asked me if I considered dropping the "07" from my name? Does anybody else here think I should?

I was thinking of changing my name to the King Of Cartoons some time ago but decided against it cuz i couldn't find an image with the King of Cartoons (from Pee Wee's Playhouse) to make the avatar.

Oh, and this is a good as time as any to bring this up:

It's against the rules to create multiple IDs on the boards. This said, I don't believe that the majority of people who create multiple IDs are doing it for malicious intents but because they want a new user name. As stated above, the administrators can help you out with this. So do not create a new user name if you want a new name! This will only get you a warning and get you in trouble. If you want a new user name, we can change it for you and keep all your stats and avatar and profile and all that good stuff that you had in your previous name. And I would also be willing to assist anybody seeking to change their names, also. :)

I'm sure I'll get it confused at first, but it'll come round. Actually Jim Harvey sounds like a mix between Jim Gordon and Harvey Dent or maybe Bullock, so it sounds like a name that would play in the Batman canon anyway.

So does this mean 'Dick Grayson' is back on the user name market?

Damnit Jim, you're a DG not a JH!

=O

hehe..umm, congrats?
Anyway, on name changes...is that what I would need to get the "n" in naraht capitalized? - Naraht
or go the way of the full Nick "Naraht" Frame

bleh

Nah. Originally when I saw your handle I did wonder why you chose that (and I know you have on at least one occasion explained why - I can't recall, damn fuzzy brain), now it's as regular to the board as baked beans (which I suppose are not at all regular to this board).

Keep it. Makes mine sound good ;) - which is my real name by the way. Shortened, naturally. :D

Nope. I've "preserved" it to avoid any confusion that would result if someone else took up that moniker. I guess you could say my old username is 'retired' from the boards. :)

And drop the "07" Cal, but that's my opinion....

Jim, do my withered brain a favor and keep your current avatar for a while. That'll make it easier to get use to.

You know, now everytime I see your name in a post I hear in my head, "And that's the rest of the story...." ;)

Dated, I know. I'm going to check myself into an old folks home now...sigh.

Opposed to everyone else, my name really IS Evil Dr. Reef. I spent 8 years in Evil Medical School for the moniker, and I don't intend to give it up anytime soon.

That's Paul Harvey, and he's still on the air, I understand, so...don't feel so old!
