The title of this thread makes it look like I'm going to be asking for donations or begging people to buy T-shirts. Well, I will never ask for donations, nor will I ever beg people to buy stuff (though I do throw out reminders here and there. I love it when my cartoon can generate a bit of money).
Nah, I'm asking for some help on deciding something concerning the series. Since I released the newest Extra, The Pilot That Never Was, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out something. Would it be better if Geoweasel episodes were a bit shorter, but came out more often due to them being easier to make? At first I just totally denounced the idea (I argue with myself a lot). But now that I started thinking about it more, it's seeming like a bit better of an idea. I'm still 50/50 though here. All this time I've been concentrating on trying to make this series like a TV or theatrical cartoon. Hence the opening themes and credits. But who says it has to be like that? What if I made episodes that were about 3 to 4 minutes in length and released them more often, with a really independent feel? Kinda like Strong Bad Emails. Except with less gimmicks and 80s referencing.
So in short, here's the basic question: After Episode 18, should episodes be shorter and come out more often, or should it stay the same and be...semi-often? I really want some feedback on this, both from old fans (because they know how it's been) and from new fans (because they can probably imagine it being different easier). There would still be other stuff to sort out but for now, I've already bored you with all these words. The polls are open!

I'd much rather wait longer for longer episodes instead of waiting less for shorter episodes. It's definately worth it. But the 3 month hiateses need to stop, either way. I know you have a good excuse ( or do you? Nar seems to think you don't), but seriously.

Why not both? I don't see any reason for you having to stick to a specific length for a show. If you have an idea for something short that stands well on it's own, go for it. If you'd rather include it in a larger episode, that's fine too.
Just because a comic might normally have 3 or 4 panels doesn't mean they can't do a one-panel comic every once in awhile. I don't think the same should be untrue for webtoons.

That's very true, and not a bad idea. One minor thing would be the opening theme and credits. I wouldn't use them on episodes that are short, but then to keep things uniform, I'd probably nix them on the ones that are longer too. Uh...sorry, just kinda thinking out loud here.
I say you should do whatever the heck you want.
Why should a bunch of idiots tell you what to do?

Why should a bunch of idiots tell you what to do?Because he is obviously at a standpoint with himself and he wants us, the people who watch the cartoon, to input.
I think MacK has a great idea. If it's a small idea then make it short. If you can go long with it, do that. I started watching GEOweasel right about when episode 16 was released, and I didn't mind the updates. I watched reruns of the shows and specials and extras like every day. I say release what you can and don't get stressed out. Have fun with it.

Either one is fine as long as it doesn't take more than 2 months to deliver ;).:moon:

Well if I just up and change something, I would get tons of emails and messages asking me why the hell I did it. I'm always concerned with what the viewers think, which is why I always ask first before doing something like that.

I guess I have to give my opinion here since you're never on AIM. I say shorter eps because, it's a webtoon. It doesn't have to be long really. Plus with your writing style you've been known to run out of material and end a long episode on a random note. Haven't you? Iunno. With short episodes you could just do a credits song and no opening or visaversa. You could probably get that one local ska band of your area's I saw on your myspace to do a theme or something. Anyway, yeah. To me short sounds good that way you can actually get stuff done and be able to spit out good stuff easily on a more abundant basis.
EDIT: Crap I missed the decision didn't I? Oh well.

I pretty much decided against it, because the vast majority of people kinda freaked out and told me to keep it how it was. Personally I don't see a difference of eliminating the intro and outro, but whatever. People better not complain though when there's an episode and the intro/outro accounts for almost half of it ;)
On another note, I'll try to start going back on AIM soon. I've been really out of touch, and it doesn't seem to be helping my poor work ethic anyway.

Yay for majority!
I voted keep em' the same.
I can handle long waits, and i'm never disappointed with the results.

Maybe you should do the best of both worlds.
like when theres an overly long haitus between episodes, you could throw in a random short like you just did with that alternate pilot thing.
But thats just my oppinion.

That's a great idea!
