Gundam 0083: under the knife?

I understand CN not wanting to go back into Outlaw Star and editing it for TV-14 but Gundam 0083 is a very tame show and all that would be needed to be cut is the infamous four letter word. Expect alot of the same pathetic cuts that 08th MS Team saw if it airs under the TV-y7 tag. I mean come on, how much would it cost them to use the original tapes (or if they can, the unreleased DVDS that Bandai can supply them with) of 0083 and edit out a few instances of a word you cant say on TV. It is laziness on CNs part.

I mean couldnt they do that for AS its around the right time and ITs suppose to be for the older crowd anyway i mean they have like a disclaimer or whatever before it why cant it be more adult material??

The problem is is that CN has already produced TV-Y7 edited tapes of Gundam 0083 and Pilot Canditate because it was originally supposed to run on Toonami. Even though now Gundam 0083, PC, Tenchi and OS are AS shows CN wont "dish out" the "massive amounts" of money needed to "un-edit" said shows. There is no excuse for Gundam 0083 running under TV-Y7. There lies the problem. BTW, DBZ never ran uncut on CN, Gundam Wing did however.

I'm puzzled by that, actually. CN needs filler for their Saturday AS block. They should put MSG and Gundam Wing in there, not Tenchi and Outlaw Star.

And yes, it costs massive money to re-edit.. for Williams Street. Their budget is $50,000 a year. They can't afford to waste a penny of it.

Wouldn't you rather they used that money to secure the rights to new, ADULT anime, or give up the opportunity for more anime, just to please the Gundam and Tenchi fans? I know it's a win-lose situation for both sides, but that's just how business is.

Matt knows; he's just not giving us anything more than vague hints (sworn to secrecy?). The best I've gotten is "expect an announcement sometime in mid-February."

My guess is that it'll appear on reactor.

Haha, DBZ uncut, thatll never happen. Too many swears and too much blood, not to mention the good guys giving the bad guys the 1-finger-salute (i wonder how theyll edit all the times trunks does that to brolly in the movies...). As for Gundam Wing, they milked that cash cow, so I doubt theyre gonna bring it back. My guess for the 4-letter-word in 0083, CN will do wut they did with Cowboy Bebop, they'll replace it with "damn".

No, they'll replace it with "darn" or "blast". 0083 is a TV-Y7FV show, not a TV-PG or TV-14 show.

Actually, the four-letter word isn't the only thing that would need to be cut. There's a scene where a GM flips off a downed Zaku (pretty funny, although edited easily enough), and Monsha is quite the pervert, so there'll be some editing where he's concerned.
