The missing episode is finally, officialy at least, found on the latest Turtles DVD Release from Funimation. Finally, NAvarre is more or less having(forcing?) Funimation to release the series right with a season set half. 2 Discs, 7 episodes per disc.

THe Quality isn't as sharp as the 3ep per disc releases, but to the average DVD watcher, it won't even be noticeable. Sadly, the 'TVY7' type ratings are included on at least one of these episodes, 'Membrane'....but at least the other logo's are absent..

It's finally nice to see the complete Season 4. MEmbrane starts off with the turtles in their new monster hunter suits. It explains why they can't use weapons and have the toy based designs in the series in a rather clever way. Plus, it also shows that the turtles don't deliberatly hurt living t hings unless they absolutley have to...

As to why this episode didn't air? There are two, possibly three scenes that can make me wonder. One, is early in the episode. After Baxter gets his new clone body, his finer falls off right on screen, complete with disgusting squishy sound effect. Second, more questionable, is a scene where after his arm falls off, he's seen hammering it with a sledge hammer into something more stable(Somehow).... Third, April kicks him in the jaw with a ninja kick, and his jaw FALLS OFF COMPLETE WITH SKIN DANGLING.

Other than those potential 'gross out' scenes for kids 5-9, it was a pretty solid episode. Baxter designs his clone body, gets it, but something unexplained goes wrong. it starts disintegrating, and so does his mind. He starts having flashbacks to his childhood, how his mother tried to steer him on the right path, but once his mother died, it was hit or miss for Baxters good gene after that. Once the turtles entered h is live, it all went down hill from there.

As Baxters mine disintegrates, and we see a few more 'detailed' scenes of what Hun did to him, he 'works out' that April was the cause for his downfall from scientist to lacky, to brain in a jar, and he goes after her. The turtles stop him at StockTronics, where he returns with April, and after a breif fight scene, wind up on a gondola that crosses between the bridges. During the fight, it's damaged 100 feet above the water...but as April pleeds for her life, telling Baxter how much she truly admired him before he turned all evil, Baxter imagines his mother in her place. Thinking April is his mother, he saves her at the last minute by handing her off to a waiting Casey who is dangling from a safley placed rope. As Casey brings April up into the Helicopter the turtles are flying (Baxter stole Bishops in order to get to April), Baxter falls to the ocean and never surfaces..

It could have been a decently dramatic ep if it didn't end on a joke, like the Leatherhead episode did...but ahh well...

So, when next we see BAxter in Good Genes, I guess he did die, and Bishop brought him b ack to life with the electricity.

I'm working on getting a complete picture review up soon, but here's the text one. For those w ho got the DVD, what did you think?

just watched this ep a few hrs ago: awesome!

finally a Baxter-centric episode and shazam was it good
really good animation and flow in this ep as well, which further saddens me about Fast Forward's step back in design and animation

at least we have one last treat down the pipe: The Ninja Tribunal arc

This was defenitely an important episode for Baxter's character, and if you follow the show you should really try to see it.

But the most surprising thing - I had no idea Baxter was black!

How could you not tell he was black. In the first cartoon he wasn't but in this one since day one it was easy to see he was black.

maybe lutochris hasn't been watching this program from day one. perhaps he just caught on in S4. Baxter's been a brain and hologram so perhaps his ethnicity was ambiguous to Luto. you might have to pm him to find out though.

Actually I have been watching since the first season. I just never thought he was supposed to be black. I mean, his skin isn't very dark, and he doesn't sound black. They never really made it obvious, and I just never really thought about it until they showed his mom, who obviously was black, in this episdoe.

Looks pretty black to me. As for the episode. It was cool, and I do understand why it was banned. I don't agree with it but thats just me.

He's been black the entire show!

He's had the same dark skin-tone and hair (when he was still human) since his arrival in season 1.

How can you miss something so blatantly obvious like that?

As for the ep...

Sounds kick ass to me, I can't wait to see it!
