very nice. he looks a lot like the phantom stranger. i liked how you made the smoke form a question mark behind him. that was a nice touch.

Wow! John-- another GREAT pic

this drawing of the Question reminds me of the Green Hornet design from NOW! Comics back in the late 80's-early 90's

now THAT was a great superhero! I hope he finds his way onto a poll someday!!

HI TFMA
I was a big fan of the NOW comics Green Hornet too, and I can definately see the influence although I was not conscious of it until you mentioned it. There's just something so cool about a crime fighter in a hat and trenchcoat.
Cheers

trenchcoats and fedoras rule

yeah im a huge fan of that run of GH-- i have a lot of signed posters and lithos as well as a complete set of the run

i wish DC or even Marvel would pick up the rights to it-- they are making a GH movie so you never know they might want a new comic to go with it!

Hey ZorBrak
Interesting, y'know I directed 3 storyboards and drew one myself for the TMNT cartoon so I have a natural affinity for the turtles. Chester Gould (Dick Tracey's creator) is one of my all time favorite cartoon artists as a matter of fact I ink with a Rotring pen on some more of the tinier details which is the pen that Chester swore by.
So in short, yeah, if you guys vote for it I'll certainly draw it.
Cheers
John

John, once again, you've done a great job. The sketch is fantastic- at least, as far as I can tell. I have no idea whether the drawing is "on-model" design-wise, but I love the shading and the smoke questionmark behind him.

Also, am I the only one who had trouble finding this? I kept looking for it on the News page, but it never showed. So, I finally came to the board here in desperation (ok, maybe not desperation, but you get what I'm saying...), and find out it's been here for a full day! Oh, well....

Wow, John, you've done storyboarding work as well as comics? I'm actually hoping to get into that business soon- any advice?

Later,
Randy H

Looks great. The Question always DID remind me of will Eisner's the Spirit crossed with the Shadow.

hmm...well, I completely forgot about this being on the Comic board...as I rarely visit here....had sombody not mentioned it being here...I would've forgotten...

Anyway, nice work John! I really like it....love the swirly smoke and stuff.. :)

Can we start getting these polls to run shorter than a week then? The wait is a killer! :D
