I liked "The Dance Contest," particularly the music when Popeye finally learns to dance...with a little help from his spinach, and the scene where Bluto and Popeye engage in a dance-fight set to the music commonly heard in a French l'apache dance.

Probably that one in which Bluto is dodging the draft, and Popeye tries to convince him to go. But when enemy soldiers attack Popeye, Bluto helps Popeye.

That sounds like "Goonland." But to answer the question: I have too many
favorites to choose just one. In fact, Popeye appeared in more shorts than
any other cartoon character (over 200 theatrical shorts; and that's not even
counting about another 200 made-for-TV cartoons!). Pretty impressive for a
character that isn't a funny animal!

I like the one where both Popeye and Bluto are trying to get themselves seriously injured so that they can be admitted to the hospital where Olive's a nurse. After various funny yet unsuccessful attempts, Popeye manages it by force-feeding Bluto his spinach and letting him beat the crap out of him.

I've got a lot of Popeye favorites, but I'll just pick one here. It's "Clean Shaven Man", where Popeye and Bluto give each other "the works" in a barbershop (Wimpy went out to lunch) in an attempt to win Olive's favors, and she jilts both of them. Funny stuff. :D
