Why was cowboy bebop missing episodes 6 (Sympathy for the devil) and 8 (Waltz for venus) the first time they aired it on adult swim but they showed it the second time around? edit problems?

It still confuses me why Sympathy for the Devil was considered a "9-11" episode when it really didnt have anything that referring to terrorism. But still kudos to CN for showing the cut episodes in the second run.
