I'm going to buy this A.S.A.P. They just need to release the rest of the seasons of this, Batman Beyond, JLU, and then release:

"Lobo"
"Gotham Girls" (2000 - 2002)
"Static Shock" (2000 - 2004)
"The Zeta Project" (2001 - 2002)

Then we'll have the entire DCAU.

Anyone find this yet? Season 1 I only found at Bestbuy on release day. None of the Targets or Walmarts in my area had it for some reason.

I went to my local Best Buy on my luch break to pick up TTs2 and TBs2, and was told by an employee that these released were pushed to NEXT Tuesday, 9/19. Can ANYONE else confirm this?

If it's true, then it's gonna SERIOUSLY tap my cash flow next week, as it's also the final HE-MAN/MOTU release.

I usually go out according to the info on Worlds Finest. I go to Best Buy every day there is something released and there is always plenty there. I have never had a problem.

Today I hit up Future Shop, Zellers, HMV and Best Buy - there was nothing there at all.

Original release date was 9/26, then it was pushed ahead to 9/19 then it was pushed ahead again to 9/12.

I've no doubt that's why retailers are so confused...and why not a single one advertised the sets.

Bottom line: retailers are allowed to put the sets out now, but some may not have gotten all the info on the new release dates. Copy the UPC (found on the package here (http://teentitans.toonzone.net/tt/releases/dvd/seasontwo/back.jpg)) and take it into the store and have them look it up on the computers. More than likely the stock is sitting in the back room.

Okay - I went back to the same Best Buy today at lunch, with a PRINTOUT in my hands no less, verifying the release date.

That same employee took one look at the printout, rolled his eyes, shrugged his shoulders and said, "Yeah, well, we have them in back, but our system says we can't sell them until the 26th."

I said, "Fine, then Best Buy's loss is Border's gain." Then I walked out. Whereas I proceeded to drive 2 blocks down the street where I purchased both DVD sets at Borders.

This is the 3rd time in a year BB has done that - and it's only happened with Warner releases... they did the same thing with the Batman Movie rereleases, and STAS v3.

To those who have bought the set, or have seen the reviews over at The World’s Finest (http://www.worldsfinestonline.com), do you have any specific comments? Perhaps the menus look great, or could be done better. Not enough episodes, or the DVD casing itself should be more than an Amaray casing? We all know how disappointing the extras are, but what about the other aspects of the DVD? Is this a worthy compillation for the series?

Found it at Wal-Mart last night. I will watch it this weekend and update with impressions.

OK, just got done watching it.

Episodes: This is one of my favorite arcs, so even if the features are unimpressive, I think it was worth buying just for the episodes. The Terra storyline is just so powerful and interesting to watch. Of course, it also makes some of the standalone episodes pale in comparison ("Only Human," "Every Dog Has Its Day," "Transformation" being the more 'meh' ones). 9/10

Features: Oh my. There was only two features I found: Catching Up With the Titans, and trailers. If you count trailers as a feature. The Catching Up segment was a clip show of the past episodes, and some random season 2 episodes. I don't mind it, it was even sort of refreshing to be reminded of all the previous episodes. However, they didn't even bother to put it in order... 3/10

Format: Tsk, there was no widescreen version available. I liked the menu art, I just wish it was animated. What was really awkward was that it sounded like they used the same background music from the season one DVD, sound effects and all. This doesn't work when you have immobile menus... I thought the Jinx art was a nice treat for fans, even if this is the only season where she doesn't appear. 2/10

So, all in all, wonderful season. The DVD itself could use a LOT of work.

Same here. Show great! DVD crap. Dont get me wrong its a nice transfer and we get Dolby Surround but no extras worth a crap. Why didnt they get George and Marv to talk about TERRA and her relationship with Slade(Deathstroke)? Maybe ask Glen and the crew why they changed a few plot points from the classic Judas Contract book when they adapted it for the show. Something.

At least its not very expensive.

It's nice to say I have a collection of Teen Titans DVDs. I think the DVD coverart is pretty nice and compliments the first seasons pretty well. I'll be interested to see how they design the third season. This set was definitely worth getting in my opinion. The season as a whole was very good, especially considering that it was geared toward younger children. Terra's theme really touched me. I would say it was almost a celctic influenced music. It just fit really well with her character and evoked an indescribable emotional response. Having seen this season again, I feel bad that they were only able to revisit Terra's character once before they got canceled. I sincerely hope that they will release a DTV and do a follow up story worthy of her character. As mention by others, the lack of extras and commentary's does hinder the experience. I think it would have been great had there been discussion about Terra and the character's develop and motivations this season. I think this should be part of the experience when buying a season set on DVD.
Watching Season 2 just reaffirmed the joy I remember watching this when it was on Cartoon Network. I have to admit it took me a little while to jump on board with this series. The over the top Japanese style animation took some getting use to. But characters and the writing is just amazing to me.
I see what they've done with the Teen Titans and I wonder what it could have been like had they been part of the DCAU. If they could have captured and characters in a similar way with their motivations, their pasts, and their interactions and relationship with each other in the same way, but placed in a DCAU type setting, it could have been really amazing. But of course it would be different and we'd lose certain aspects were it developed for the DCAU.
So, I'd set, if you have the first season and liked it and remember liking the second season, just get the set. You may not have the desired extras and it may not be in widescreen, but it's still a great season.
