The Plot: What is this Series All About? Well William C Maune's Article tells all. (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=12251) It's about Two Orphaned Kids, (Todd and His Older Sister Riley), Who while Cleaning their Room at the Orphange, find a Comic Book ad for "Replacements" by a Company Known as 'Fleemco'.
They Sent in $1.98 and got themselves parents, (Mom's a Top Secret Super Spy, Agent K, (Probably Works for British MI5), and Dad? He's a Stunt Junkie a La Evel Knievel by the Name of Dick Daring, and of course there's Mom's Talking Car Named what else? Car...
But Fleemco is always aiming to please Both Todd and Riley, and anytime they want, Todd or Riley can Call Fleemco, Switch out Adults at will, and 'Replace them'.
But usually when they do...? The So Called Results are funny, and quite Disasterous.. It Makes you wonder.. Would You replace anyone you don't like?
Tonight's Episodes are up and here they are.
In Cinder-Riley: The School dance is coming. And Riley has her eyes on A cool boy by the Name of Johnny, and she wants to Impress him with her looks, but when she asks Dad for a Complete Makeover, Dad Decides to Take her to "One Cut Wally" A local Hairstylist, but when Faced with the thought of that Makeover, Riley Calls in Fleemco to Replace Wally, and replace him with a Real Hairstylist. Can Riley Get the Boy of her Dreams? or will she have a 'Real Bad Hair Day'?
and in our Second Episode, Skate Gate: Todd thinks the Current mayor of the City is really bad, and that he needs to be replaced, so Off Goes the Call to Fleemco, and Todd Replaces The Mayor with a Pro Skater, and when that happens? The Results are disasterous...and Humorous all in one kick turn. Can things get back to normal?
Also there will be a Poll, Feel Free to Rate the show, and See if you want to Keep it, Or Call Fleemco and Replace it.
Repeats:
If you miss Tonight's Episode at 9PM Eastern/Pacific, 8 Central, Don't worry, cause here are the Repeats.. and there will be a repeat tonight as well
All Times are Eastern/Pacific 1 hour Earlier for Central, but here they are.

Unfortunately I'm away from a T.V with cable this week, and so I'm up the creek in regards to catching this episode, but I did catch an episode on Disneychannel.com
Personally I enjoyed what I saw, outside of the pretty heavy handed moralizing with each episode, it actually has a pretty interesting concept. I sense that it will often have the Fairly Odd Parents idea of "Be careful what you wish for" but we'll see how well it works out.
Oh and great job by all the voices of these charecters, they all sounded just right.

It was pretty good, a genereic plot but I like the characters especally the Dad. At least the kids arn't know it alls or the adults are complete idiots, at least their mom isn't anyway. I hope the show continues to be funny.

Just Caught it myself, and I have to say The Two Plots are not that bad.
In Cinder-Riley, The idea was sound, and in Fact I noticed that the Hairstylist Sounded Vaguely like "Francois" (The Hairstylist) from Kim Possible. Riley Looked cute after that but Man, Agent K thought Dad was an Evil Genius! Of course Mom is always a hoot. but in the End, Riley finds out that just "Being Herself" is the real key. OVerall score? 8 out of 10...
In Skate Gate, we See that the Mayor Originally was indeed Bogus. but as you can tell the New Mayor was a bit worse.. Especially When he orders everyone to be on a Skateboard. Seeing Dick Daring "Jump the Shark" was definitely a Reference to "Jumping the Shark" and the Fonzie Joke was funny. and The Head of Fleemco pulling Todd's Leg .. Classic... Riley Chasing a chipmunk was also funny (Talk about Riley hyped up on Sweets. that was the topper.) All in all a good Ep.
Final Score for this ep, another 8 out of 10,
Final Verdict:Overall, the opening was good, the Stories funny but odd. and the End? The End Teasers are a hoot.
overall a good start for the new Series.. Not Going to Send in the $1.98 and Call Fleemco to replace this show, but they definitely need to keep the silliness, and get serious with Some of the Plots with Mom (Agent K), and Dad. I'll Probably be doing more with the talkback for Tomorrow's show (Yes, another episode tomorrow!) but believe me. For a Show Called "The Replacements?" This one is going to be hard to Replace.

My review covers two episodes and it is more about the show in general than the specific episodes. Ultimately it is up to the mods of this forum, but I don't mind there being specific episode Talkbacks separate from the Talkback for my review.
Sorry. Just thought I'd ask.
I thought it was fantastic. There were a lot of funny moments, like with the barber ("Surprise me.") and the anchorman who didn't know where to find the camera. This is definitely worth a shot.

Trust me. An actual review will occupy this space in time, but for now, shouldn't this thread be combined with the TZ Talkback thread? Just asking.
Well, Lonestarr, Bet you didn't know that there's another new Episode tonight (At 8pm E/P 7pm Central) and thus.. there will be a new talkback once again. "After all it's .. Replaceable...'

I didn't like the first episode here all that much (I missed the preview about a month ago or whenever it aired), so I wasn't even sure if I'd come back for a second episode. The potential's here, just not realized...
"Cinder-Riley" (5.5 out of 10): Pretty much the whole 'It's not how you look on the outside, it's how you look on the inside' deal. Riley's non-sensical things to blurt out when she's around boys didn't do anything for me. Only thing notable was the bit of raccoon juggling.
"Skate-Gate" (6 out of 10): Todd doesn't do much better in his outing, replace the skate-hating mayor with someone who's obsessed with it. The best part, though, was the 'Jump the Shark' gag. Easily.

Here's a review from The Hollywood Reporter:
The Replacements
By Marilyn Moss
Bottom line: "The Replacements" is wish-fulfillment at its most frenetic.
9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8
Disney Channel
Disney's new kids animated fantasy series, "The Replacements," is wish-fulfillment at its most frenetic, a kind of new take on the old adage "Be careful what you wish for." There's plenty of animation to go around, filtered through garish colors and frenetic characters. And it is mindless to boot. But very young kids who like to watch extreme movement on the small screen will enjoy all the tumult.
The series, whose regular slot is Saturdays at 8 p.m., revolves around two orphans, Riley (the voice of Nancy Cartwright) and Todd (the voice of Gary DeLisle) who order two replacement parents from a company named Fleemco. What they end up with are a British secret agent mother and a reckless stuntman father. This gives new meaning to the word "family," even as revised as it is today because the new parents get the kids in more hot water than anything else. It's all extremely fast and furious and corny at its core, a throwback to the kind of animation that kids saw in the 1960s when the Flintstones got themselves into similar mindless fixes. But back then they had some emotional connection to each other. This series pays more attention to whirlwind action, especially in the premiere episode, "CindeRiley," where writers Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton give Riley a makeover as her parents create havoc along the way.

Looks like the show got looked at. From Cynopsis Kids.com:
The Replacements, Disney Channel's new original animated series, premiered last Friday, September 8, 2006 at 9p, and delivered 2.1 million in the K6-11 demo, and 1.5 million Tweens 9-14, making it the most watched original animated series premiere with those two demos in the network's history.
It did considerably better its opening night than did Yin Yang Yo!, FWIW.

The theme song from this show is so bad, and was replayed SO MUCH over the last 2 months, it has since repulsed me from the show.

Because Toon Disney reaches a lot less households than The Disney Channel (which most everyone with cable gets), ratings for Toon Disney shows will inevitably be lower.

You know, you are right. Disney Channel DOES reach into more households than TD. My bad.

That's odd I love that theme song, think it fits the show really well.

I must agree. I didn't get to it in my review, since my review was getting pretty long already, but I thought it was one of the better new theme songs in quite some time.
