If Bosko is considered a black caricature, certainly some of the characters in LNB&W's opening and closing are black caricatures, especially the Cab Calloway-like band leader in the closing. Does anybody else think this would help us make an argument to CN about bringing back Bosko? Or do y'all think they would just axe the opening and closing if we brought it up?

I thought I was the only one who noticed those black characters in LNB&W's bumpers. They even have the stereotypical look - dark black face, big lips etc. Yet they can't even show the blackfaced ending to JEEPERS CREEPERS on LNB&W? Please!

I notice it too (I think I even mentioned it on the old boards, but I don't recall). Also, they've fased out the traditional bumpers, instead they use stock (non-show-specific) bumpers. Perhaps they've realised the bumpers have characters who could be concieved as un-PC and are going to phase out the opening and closing too.

I watch O Canada before LNB&W, and it's also changed over to the same stock bumpers, so maybe they're doing it to all the overnight shows.

I'm sorta surprised, given that the original LNBW o&c was basically just scenes from the cartoons being shown. Not something they can't easily do again, given the opens made for June Bugs*.

*BTW, I am trying to make the time to watch the four hours of JB I taped this year (the mix of toons is maybe half ABC debuts, half Turner/dubbed stuff)

Thanks for the correction, Bobby B! Seems wierd that they would get rid of the show specific bumpers, though.
