My parents took me to see BlackHawk Down last night...a good movie...very gory at times....made me proud to not own a gun.

Anyway, as you all may well know, Movie Theaters now air ads before the coming distractions...

I saw one for the GameCube, Nintendos lastest machine..and they started showing alot of footage for their sports games...lots of pretty pictures to make you go "Oooh" (it was obvious they were aiming at the 17-23 Male demographic)
After they covered all of the sports titles, they started showing shots of games in development..
They showed the New Starfox, The new Metroid (pretty sweet) a new Mario Game....then cut to the logo for Zelda...

Yes, the game which has Zelda fans lamenting is so imbaressing...even Nintendo doesn't want to show in game footage.

*sigh*

I've seen that ad. I assumed they didnt show Zelda, because it wasnt anywhere close, development-wise, to release. I dont think they'd be ashamed of it.

They've released clips to the press...
it looks really cartoony...and it's closer to being done than say..the new Mario game, which I haven't even heard anything on yet..

Fans have been less than thrilled with the new Zelda

Well, when footage was first shown of the new Zelda game they asked the press not to release it to the general public yet, but no one seemed to care and so it was released anyway. Nintendo hadn’t put anything together they wanted the public to see, as they anticipated that fans would be wary of such a drastic change and so they wanted to make sure that what they had would put to rest any doubts people would have regarding the new style. I don’t think much has changed, and they’ll show footage when the game is ready enough to prove itself as just as good as the last one. I’m sure if Nintendo thought the game were bad they would scrap what they have and start again, as Zelda is too important a franchise to risk making even one bad game in the series.

Indeed. Just because the new Zelda is cel-shaded doesn't mean it will be bad. I mean, nobody's been able to play the darn thing yet!
