Hello,

I wasn't sure where to place this thread. It deals with both DC and Marvel.

Dear Moderators: If anyone knows where it should go, or wants to move it, feel free.

Which new show or new season are you most excited about?

I'm most excited about the Fantastic Four, which airs its first episode tonight. After that, I'm most interested in the new season of The Batman. The plot lines for the episodes we know about sound extremely interesting, and I'm excited about the introduction of Robin. This allows Batman to finally act as a mentor, not as a rookie crimefighter (which is how he started as on the show). Following in third place is the Legion of Superheroes. I have very little hope in this show. I'm almost 23yrs old, and the show looks like it's aiming for 8 yr olds, so even though I'm a comic book superhero junkie, I doubt I'll like it.

I'm excited for two new shows Marvel's Fantastic Four, which looks like it will be replacing Justice League on Toonami. Legion of Superheroes staring Superboy is premiering on WB/WC channel. (I still can't get used to that name, "Kids WC") :D
The new season of The Batman is cool to, but with Batman I know what to expect to a certain degree.. Robin's story has been done before in The Animated Batman Adventures. ;)

The Batman's writers are finally taking a cue from their illustrious predecessors, and I couldn't be happier, or more excited! I can't wait to see their take on Harley Quinn! All of the upcoming DTVs seem cool, and I'm waiting with baited breath for Legion of Superheroes. (Danged Superboy lawsuit...)

Thread mirrored.

I can't wait to see Fantastic Four - it's been nearly 10 years since I've seen a new episode of the FF on TY! I'm also really pumped for the new season of The Batman, especially The Riddler and The Dark Knight Returns episodes.

The Batman. For the last few years I've been watching it to get kind of my weekly dose of Batman. But after see the SDCC movie, I can't wait for 9/23 to come. LOSH seems decent as well.

I have really been looking forward to the new season of The Batman. I was skeptical before the show aired but after I saw it, I became a fan. I have enjoyed this show since season one. The Batman vs. Dracula was the best! I’m really looking forward to more.

I’m gonna cheat, though, and also say Fantastic Four. I had not seen anything about this show until I caught an advert this week. It looks…fantastic! I like the style from what I saw of it. Plus, Doctor Doom? Awesome! I won’t be able to see it until I return home but I made sure to record it.

I’ve only seen one preview pick from Legion of Superheroes but I can’t say that I’m too excited based upon that. Still, that’s what I thought when I saw a picture of Teen Titans before seeing the show and liking that. I’ll give it a try but I’m not expecting nearly as much.

Definatly The Batman, I've enjoyed watching it since it began and became a fan of the show durring season 2. Season 3 wasn't as great but from what we are hearing season 4 should be.

I don't know much about the LOSH toon and the FF toon has so far lead to disapointment with its bad animation and badly storyboarded fightscenes(though its story can improve).

Hands down the new season of The Batman. The future episode has me more exited then I've been since the premier of The Batman's first episode.

There isn't too much info past that it will have Nightwing Oracle and DKR Batman! :D I think the writer was also revealed. You should try The Batman speculation thread part 2 They'll have all the up to date info there.

I was looking forward to Fantastic Four until I saw an episode. Yeeeowch.

Anybody complaining about The Batman or Teen Titans or Legion of Superheroes should be forced to watch FF for five minutes. You might not like the fact that these shows are geared for a somewhat younger audience than B:TAS etc, but good grief, things could be much worse.

Wow it's weird how opinions for the Batman have changed. Here is a show that very few people were looking forward to before it started and now three seasons later people are hyped about the new season. Things sure can change in a couple years.

Agreed, just goes to show you can't write off a TV show just because it's slow/not upto your expectations in the beginning. A good example is Family Guy and now, apparently, The Batman.

I'm looking forward to the new season of The Batman as well as the new Smallville season. I want to see Clark take on Zod already.

Despite the stupidity of the "young Superman and not Superboy" thing, I'm going to say Legion of Super-Heroes (never liked "The Batman", and not seen the Fantastic Four cartoon)...

Speaking for myself, I liked The Batman from the begining I just didn't have time to watch this show since I work on Saturdays!

You guys did ask what new season we're most excited about. So, it's not off topic and is DC Comics related, which DCAU derives from. By the way, the new season of Smallville begins September 28th on the new CW network.

@Ion: don't bother getting excited, he's voicing Robin's father, not Batman. -_-

when do the 4th season of TB, and the 1st season of LOSH start airing? Thanks in advance.

I have just one more stupid question now: are BOTH airing on that date, or just one of the two, and if so which one?

Both are premiering on Sept. 23rd.

EDIT: Might as well put my 2 cents in. I'm looking forward to 'TB' the most. I haven't made up my mind yet on 'LOSH' because the promos looked pretty childish ...

thanks Static. ^_^

I've only seen the first ep of FF so far and find it mega mediocre, but I am excited to see eps 2 and 3 because Paul Dobson is voicing Dr. Doom, so he may just be able to save the show!
-
I like the first two seasons of TB pretty well, though they were obviously imperfect, but the third season was for the most part just a wreck. I am still interested in the fourth season, because of Conroy and Hammil participating, and because I am curious to see how Robin turns out and how Batman grows in connection to that, but I'm keeping my expectations low for now. I really pray they get a new and improved theme, too. -_-
-
LOSH is anybody's guess for me. I can't at all see myself loving it, but I think it could either be one I hate or one I think is decent. Like Static, I think the promo stuff I've seen looks way too young child aimed, and in truth I would have MUCH rather seen another season of JLU than a youthful-bootleg of them. But my final opinion on it will be on hold until I've seen at least a handful of episodes.

Fantastic Four is one Im interested in but i cant find anywhere to see the episdoes on the internet, and I dont have the channel. LOSH tho will be premiering I believe when CW comes into full swing in the coming weeks so I'll be looking for that.

I've become quite excited about this season of The Batman, though my exposure to it is limited to TB vs. Dracula and a few episodees I'm hopful I'll be able to keep up, I was lamnting the early satrday morning thing untill it dawned on me I have a Tivo..

As the week becomes shorter, I'm surprised at how excited about this Saturday I've become.

With network Saturday morning cartoons all but extinct, it's going to be fun for me to jump out of bed, plop down on the floor in front of the TV and watch TWO new cartoons I'm really looking forward to. I might even have to buy a box of really sugary cereal with a cartoon mascot on the front to help me relive my misspent youth.

I find myself looking forward to the new season of The Batman and the premier of Legion of Super-Heroes with a casual appreciation and easy-going anticipation. I won't be taping each episode so that I can re-watch it endlessly and eventually dissect every scene and each line of dialogue, as I always did with JLU. I'll be able to just watch and enjoy, without turning obsessive.

It'll be nice to put away the critic's hat I so often found myself wearing while watching season after superb season of the DCAU.

And it's not that I don't think these new shows won't be excellent, I'll just be more relaxed :) .

It's actually the CW, not WC, and it's still Kids' WB! on the CW.

I've enjoyed Fanntastic Four so far, but the only real show I was looking forward to out of the superhero shows was Legion of Superheroes. I just didn't have high expectations for F4 after seeing the questionable pictures, but it has been better than I was hoping, and The Batman has been on again/ off again in terms of excitement, but if they do the season like the season premiere, it may very well end up being the best of the superhero shows. This is only because Ninja Turtles has changed to fast Forward. If they were doing the Ninja Tribunal, it would actually be the best super hero type series this season. Of course, Sigma 6 has performed above expectations this season as well.

:D

I get sad when I look at my "To Do List". I have lots of passes to shows that are no longer aired. (I'd post it but I dunno how.)

---

I think it's weird how we have a Superman / Batman hour on television again. I hope to catch as much of the WB or CW as I can but I wish they'd move 'em over to Cartoon Network.
