View Full Version : Is it just me..or is KidsWB making complete IDIOTS of themselves?

Ok,maybe "Idiot" is a bit too harsh. Though it's looking like KidsWB has no clue how to air programing. Yes I know this is nothing new to anyone on this message board, but lately. All they have done is just screw themselves over again, and again with "Scooby Doo".

I know that some (if not many) of you guys are fans of Scooby, but I'm personally sick to death of it. The show is nothing more than crappy animation, and the same tired plot EVERY SINGLE EPSOIDE. Now there's news of a NEW series for next fall. -.- OH SHEER HAPPY HOUR JOY. *scrasim*

I've stopped watching the WB all together (Except of Smallville, I'm a big Superman fan)

The whole Scooby Doo thing just reenforces it

No, most of us are not fans of "Scooby." In fact, most of hate it. However, I know some of the guys here who liked the new D2V's, myself included. I really hated the fact that "Scooby" was overplayed, in the same sense that I hate that "Pokemon" is/was overplayed, as well as "DBZ."

Well, it seems they'll be losing the P*k*-franchise to Fox, so they might be returning to traditional animation; but Sc**by-D**? I'm just not sure. You think they'll ever remember the characters that put the Warner in Time-Warner? It wasn't that long ago. 5 years ago was heavenly; 3 years ago I came here. Oh well. *sigh*

I didn't know that people even like Scooby any more. Its been played so many times that the very mention of it fills me with anger and disgust.

Scooby has certainly been overplayed, and nearly all past episodes have pretty much been the same plot. But, as Vincent said, the D2Vs were good, and actually moved a bit away from the "cretins in costumes" schtick. So, though I'm tired of Scooby, I'll give the new series a chance... it may surprise us!

KWB has a FULL history of stupid decisions. It overplayed the Pokemon anime, is overairing Scooby Doo, and is overplaying "Toonami." Heck, it overplays anything stupid/has marketing potential.

But worst of all, it took away the Silver Age cartoons, the ones that established themselves in the first place, the ones that made us take note of KWB. Oh, good job, guys!

Oh, and for the record, I DESPISE Scooby. :D

Well, for the record, I still like Scooby... just don't want to see him 24 hours a day (not having cable, and thus not seeing the Cartoon Network on any regular basis, I suppose I don't have to worry as much about this as you guys :-) More specifically, I suppose any Scooby-episode before one Scrappy Doo came onto the scene (and who apparently has to be the most hated [or one of the most hated] cartoon character ever created, from the comments I've seen online). Oh, and "A Pup Named Scooby Doo"...as a teenager I thought that was pretty hilarious (the bits mocking the "cheesy fake rock songs" especially...).

Plus, see comments under my "BIG NEWS" posting re: the apparent end of the Poke-onslaught on KWB....

Personally, I don't really get what AOLTW see in that mutt whatsoever. Sure Scooby started off good, but then later on devolved into this, well, mess. And the sheer number of reruns for the classic Scooby series just plain sickens me. Oh well, this is what we get for having this thrusted on a new generation.

BTW: The D2V ones do rock, but I have only seen "Zombie Island" and "Alien Invaders"

Give "Zombie Island" a try (it's the best of the bunch)... you might be pleasantly surprised. No cretins in costumes whatsoever.

Yeah, Toon Zone News got the official press release concerning this, this past week. "Scooby" is their poster boy now...

For more details on the ratings, head over to the news page.

To make anyone of the anti-Scooby fans very happy, I am planning on posting an Anti-Scooby Campaign webpage along with my other campaign, with Save the Animaniacs Campaign, Tiny Toon Adventures: Million Toon March Campaign, and Do not Overflow DBZ Campaign (working title). My webpage is in progress right now, until further notice.

SAID BY CCFAN01: SCOOBY FOR EVER!!!

....be tormented by all of us. *throws Scooby merchandise into bonfire* :D

Actually....with the rate Scooby is becoming the only thing CN is showing on the channel anymore, no wonder it got the highest ratings. :p

You all think that's bad? KWB's barf potential will be nothing compared to what will show up on NBC next season. Of course, NBC has plentyto barf at now, but I feel it will get WORSE, not better.

At least you'll have TMNT. NBC? Still riding that Saved By the Bell train. And going nowhere.

NBC sold it's block to Discovery. Next year, it will Discovery Channel shows. So, "Saved by the Bell" and all those other school shows will be cancelled. (AMEN TO THAT!)

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! NOT STEVE!!!!! If you haven't seen my post about this in another thread, has anyone seen those valentine cards with him on them? I found them hilarious.

At least it beats the Batman cards I saw that're based on the "real" comics version of him (vs. the Animated Series)----particularly the one that says "to a *real* urban legend!" Ack....how many times must I say it: BATMAN....IS...*NOT*...AN...URBAN...LEGEND! To *insist* that he's an urban legend is the most ludicrous thing I've seen in quite awhile (and probably even more ludicrous than the whole "No Man's Land" story premise)---between the Joker being brought in time and time again (along with the other Gotham villains), Batman's JLA membership, the Bat-Signal, and Dick Grayson having been a member of the Teen Titans (and its leader at one point, IIRC), a high-profile team, why would they insist on peddling *this*? Of course, I'm the same person who wonders why they keep peddling the current Bat-comics *period* ;-) Save for the Animated book, don't care much at all for the way Batman's currently written....prefer the way he was characterized in the 70's/80's stories I've been reading lately....

NBC is already basically a "chum factory" anyway ^^ I got sick of the Saved By The Bell clones the day Saved By The Bell actually became POPULAR :)

Could be worse i suppose.....

Umm.... anyone here heard of the Crocodile Hunter movie coming out? Really. Check this description out from Coming Attractions:

>>Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course--"Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin joins forces with the CIA in pursuit of a giant crocodile that has swallowed an American satellite beacon. <<

Comes out this September. Again, really.

Well, could be worse...could be "Lethal Intellect": the story of a female scientist-turned-heroine-with-really big Futuristic Gun, a cop-turned-villain-turned cyborg-turned-hero once again, a kickboxing heroine, and their wacky and toilet-humor-laden sidekicks. Oh, and a 453-car-explosion finale. ;-)

Though with Hollywood's direction these days, seeing a real-life "Lethal Intellect" wouldn't surprise *me*...
