What's your parents' favorite classic cartoon character(s)?

My dad's favorite is Donald Duck. Probably because he has a short temper too. Plus, he remembers seeing Donald Duck as a kid and liking the cartoons.

My mom's favorite is Betty Boop. I think that this is because my mom likes cutesy stuff and is only familiar with the later Boop cartoons. I'm holding off on showing her the earlier stuff because I don't know what her reaction will be and don't want her to start complaining to me about them. She complained when she saw some of the stuff on my Silly Symphonies DVD wasn't as cutesy as she wanted, and even though I'd have to tolerate her complaining for only a few seconds, I'd really rather not. :rolleyes:

My dad is fond of Porky Pig and Michigan J. Frog, while my mom is a fan of Bugs Bunny, Little Audrey, and Baby Huey.

My dad likes Wile E. Coyote and Daffy Duck, and the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons. my mom hates most of them but loves Pepe Le Pew and Bullwinkle.

My father's all-time favorite character is Wile E. Coyote, although his "close second" is probably the Goofy Gophers (he refers to the gophers as "His old buddies" for some reason).

My mom's favorite is Sylvester without a doubt. She seems to prefer his appearances in "Hippety Hopper" cartoons over those in which he appears with Tweety. Her all-time favorite is "Who's Kitten Who?" especially the scene with "No mouse is gonna make a monkey outta me!" (After Sylvester is kicked across the room...) "Eee. Eeeh. Oooh. Oooh". She also likes Sylvester's solo cartoon, "A Mouse Divided" a lot too ("I've become the father of a breakfast!").

If your remember several months ago, I posted a thread discussing the inappropriate comments that others have made while we were watching these cartoons. One of the people who made the unnecessary comment was my father back when I was in 7th or 8th grade. That was about the only time that he made such a comment (probably becuase he was upset that I was watching TV instead of doing my homework like I should've been doing).

I'm not so sure who my dad's favorite cartoon character(s) is/are, but my mom likes Pluto. Her favorite animated movie is the 1959 Disney flick Sleeping Beauty. I don't care too much for it myself because it is somewhat of a "chick flick." I guess my dad likes the movie Oliver and Company.

My mother loved Betty Boop and Bugs Bunny.

I can sum up my DAD'S attitude like this : "Are you watching that s%#t again? See if the game is on!" He did have a great sense of humor, but cartoons just weren't his thing.

Now my father-in-law LOVED Road Runner, Yosemite Sam and Beaky Buzzard - he even used to sing "I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee"

I'd have to ask my parents specifically, but of what they've mentioned...

My mom had an uncle, I think (that would make him my uncle too, but you get the point), who loved the Road Runner. She herself didn't like the Road Runner cartoons, but she knows most of the TV show theme song. She has mentioned watching Tom and Jerry and Harveytoons (like Baby Huey), though.

I don't know what my Dad's favorite character would be, he told that when he was little he would watch the cartoons in the theater, watch the movie, and then he would stick around and watch the cartoon again. He'd then leave before the movie started over.

Neither of them are into cartoons anymore at all, but they did once watch the Hollywood Toonheads with me, trying to guess who all the caricatures were.

My sister likes Casper and Tweety a lot. My Grandma likes Elmer Fudd, and my Nana (my mom's mom) likes Tom & Jerry and Tweety.

My mom also used to like watching the Harveytoons reruns back in the 1960s, her favorites out of the cartoons were the ones with Baby Huey and Little Audrey. I was surprised that she knew who Buzzy the Crow and Herman & Katnip were!

My mom likes Droopy and Tweety. My mom also does a funny imitation of one ohr former bosses which (intentionally) sounds a lot like Droopy. She also likes Tigger and bought a large plush figure of him at a Disney Store sale.
