I heard that Jay Garrick appeared in one of the "Justice League Adventures" comics.

I haven't been able to find it at my comic store. Can anyone please tell me what he did, and if his background/origin/connection to Wally was?

According to this review, Jay operated as the original Flash in the DCAU just as he did in the DCU, and assists Wally in freeing the League from one of Mirror Master's trap.

Keep in mind, though, that the Animated Universe comics are low on the continuital priority ladder, i.e. just because it happened in an AU comic doesn't mean it's canon to the show(s). That said, though, aside from the apparent reference in the comic to a Justice Society having operated in the DCAU, there's nothing from the animation that contradicts Jay having operated as the Flash in the past, and in fact in JLU, Flash and Substance, a visitor to the Flash Museum was photographed wearing the unmistakable Hermes helmet, so take it as you will.

I noticed his helmet in the museum and it was part of my argument in the link in my signature, supporting that he was the first Flash and that Wally was Kid Flash, then he became the second Flash. No Barry Allen.

Allen was mention in one comic, though.

When Flash was visting a musem for the Flash, Flash comments he has a lot to work on to lived up the legends of Barry and Jay.

This was the one were some Rock type monsters invaded Earth. I belive. Flash runs and saves WW or something like that.

And there's a perfect example of continuital priority. Since in JLU, Flash and Substance, the Flash Museum was just opening, that immediately renders that issue of whatever animated comic it was as non-canon, along with anything that might have been mentioned in said comic (i.e. no Barry). The shows always come before any of the animated comics do.
