How cool is this?!

Move over "The Wizard"... there's a new hero in town. (http://www.nintendo.com/newsarticle?articleid=xRT1KI82I3NIK7hFDV56_tCdxS7rZrsa&page=)

Alex Rider!

The hot-selling Nintendo DS will make its motion picture debut in the upcoming teen spy thriller Stormbreaker. Nintendo has signed an agreement with the film's producers that will turn the Nintendo DS into the ultimate spy gadget. Stormbreaker is based on the first in the popular Alex Rider series of books by Anthony Horowitz, which have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.

After the murder of his uncle and guardian, the MI6 British spy agency recruits the reluctant 14-year-old Alex Rider to take over his uncle's mission. Like any good spy, during training he receives his key piece of gadgetry: a Hot Rod Red Nintendo DS. He also gets several game cards that transform his DS into an eavesdropping device, a wiretap detector or a smoke bomb.

Meh, if it were like the Ah My Goddess TV PSP cameos that would be fine

but this is just corporate wanking

This also sounds very similar to Trace Memory in terms of using the DS

Between the liberties the movie is taking from the books, meh this is just typical tween fodder

Reminds me of Cloak & Dagger, one of my favorite childhood movies, but instead of featuring Atari cartridges, we get a Nintendo DS and I ain't mad at that.

Sounds like quite a bit of fun, actually. I'll prolly catch this one in the threatre. ;)

Not really. In the book, he used a enhainced Gameboy, so it makes sense to make it a DS in the movie.

WRONG.

The little kid in Snakes on a Plane had a silver DS. :)

Does anybody remember the movie "Surf Ninjas" where some kid could predict the future with his Sega Game Gear game?

Anyway, I'll just stick with "The Wizard". (I'm waiting for the DVD to arrive in my mailbox.)

At least this is a change of pace from the PSP being the all-purpose scanner thingy in sci-fi TV shows.

That's because alien forces cower before the PSP-90

Allthough I'm not all that crazy about the Xbox 360 still being rumored to be one of the Decepticons in the upcoming transformers movie. They havn't fully confirmed or fully denied that one. Videogame product placement usually is the most awkward things in movies. If they not showing the console connected right, they're showing someone mashing buttons in an awkward way and moving the controlller or handheld in convulsions.

Meh I'd rather Nintnedo fund a live action Phoenix Wright movie.

I'll only call it this generation's "The Wizard" if it has a Super Mario Bros 3-style sneak peak of the Wii! Oh, and they have to do that corny Power Glove thing!

I remember that the kid said he was playing Shinobi at the time his Game Gear started acting weird. I wonder how bad the actual Surf Ninjas Game Gear game was.

It's not a Decepticon, it's one of the many devices that is activated by the Energon Cube (among other things including iPods and Furbies).

Well let me rephrase that statement.

They should fund Capcom to make an animated movie. In fact an animated series would work just as well with the current manga being released. :)

Could it be any worse than the movie? Even as a young kid, I was bored.

The Wizzard was one of my favorite movies when I was little! I need to pick up the DVD.

As for this DS movie-debut, may you become a big name actor. :D From the plot, I probably won't see it though. LOL
