Aside from BTAS, STAS, and Justice League, the Spider-Man cartoon series was probably one of my favorites...what ever happened to it? Does it air on any channel anymore??? I thought I read somewhere that it was coming back on ABC Family...anyone know?

I haven't heard of anything saying that. Where did you read this?

I think it actually might've been on Toonzone...but I can't remember...I'm hoping it's true!!!

ha ha!

For once the UK is in a particularly fortuanate period!

Not only are they reshowing BB series 1 (which they have avoided for over a year - no sign of series 3 yet though), they are showing B:TAS in the mornings (I keep missing it though! Sob!) and Spiderman on Fox Kids! They have been showing it constantly for a couple of years now - I want to see the Spider Man And His Amazing Friends series return! That was cool!! :D

Spider-Man:TAS won't be going back to ABC but...Spider-Man Unlimited. Ugh. The original 1990's Spider-Man: TAS is expected to return to ABC Family when the movie premieres.

And yeah...we posted that news on the newspage last week!

Crud. I can't believe they're showing Spiderman Unlimited again. :( That show was just too stupid to watch.

ABC Family will also show
X-Men (1990 version)
Iron Man (1990s)
Fantasic Four (1990s)
Hopefully:
Silver Surfur
Avengers
Hulk

When will ABC Family be showing these? Please say it's Saturday mornings... :)

Overall, I liked SpiderMan TAS...

However, the fact that they started going into that clone nonsense (albiet with Mary jane, not Pete...) kinda bugged me.

Also...rather than do crossovers, Pete seemed to rely on Doc Conners, rather than Reed Richards, like he did in the comics..

Yeah, I thought the end was a shame too. While I thought the Stan Lee piece was cool and there was a sort resolution to his character, I think a couple of frames could have dealt with the MJ issue - afterall, they knew they were doing no more, so why leave it on a partial cliffhanger?

THe paralel earths/multiple spidermen thing didn't bug me as much...it was the Hydroman Mary Jane, oh my, I married a clone thing that bugged me!

What happened was the took the Gwen Stacy storyline, and put in Mary Jane...

ARG!!!

I re-watched the pilot episode of Spider-Man: TAS, and they did a great job on it. The animation, by TMS, was perfect and the animation was beautiful. Also, armed with the new knowledge of the restraints that was placed on the show, I could easily pick out what was likely changed. Still - a great episode, and it remains my favorite of the entire series. And the two part series finale wasn't all that bad. I just would've liked it extended to three parts so they could've found Mary Jane...
