The very first episode of Yin Yang Yo! premiered yesterday morning on ABC Family and aired again this morning at 10:30AM.

It was:

#1 "Dojo, Oh No! / Finding Hershel"

Did anyone watch it?

I also think one of the half episodes will air during Toon Disney's preview of the show:

Monday 8/28 at 6:45PM (15 min.)
Tuesday 8/29 at 6:45PM (15 min.)
Wednesday 8/30 at 6:45PM (15 min.)
Thursday 8/31 at 6:45PM (15 min.)
Friday 9/1 at 6:30PM (15 min.)

Then this episode, also with a couple more will air all day on Monday, September 4 on TD/JETIX.

It was nice. Definitely aimed at a younger audience than, say, Rangers and WITCH. I watched it just to see what it was like.

I probably won't be watching much more of it. It's not for me. (I'm expecting to say the same thing about Pucca, too)

Kind of looks like Puffy Ami Yumi type of cartoon! :p

The reason why Ying Yang Yo! looks similar to Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is that they're both animated in flash.

I saw the Yin Yang Yo ep on TD yesterday about (wiggles fingers in air) "respecting the elderly". I'd seen it before at the YYY website. Wasn't any better the second time around. But since the show is brightly colored and the characters have high-pitched voices, maybe little kids will like this. Hard to tell...

I recently watched some more Yin Yang Yo! eps on Jetix.tv, and even though the theme song sounds like "It took a bite of Gum-Gum", I thought they were pretty good. I admire the timing and storyboarding; and the character design's not bad. Just get rid of the Gross-out jokes and Lame, cliche lines like: "NOOOOOOOO!", And we got ourselves a hit!

I'm determined to give this a chance, but...here I am, on the internet, instead of watching more of YYY. I'm sorry, but so far the show bores me silly. I've seen the style of comedy before (FOP) and seen that style of comedy go bad (FOP again). But that took some time, whereas here it's gone bad by the third episode. But I can see that this might catch on with the younger crowd it (of course) is aimed at: the pacing is rapid-fire, it's loud, it's colorful, and occasionally a joke works. Again, it's hard to say. I find the excessive use of Flash visually wearying, but maybe little kids won't feel that way.
