Genndy animates for How to Eat Fried Worms.

I'm sure some of you might have seen the trailer (or at least a TV spot) for How to Eat Fried Worms, (http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/howtoeatfriedworms) the gross live-action kids film which opened in theaters yesterday (August 25).

It turns out that in order to give the film "a bit of 2D-animated comic relief," Orphanage Animation (Genndy T's new studio) was commissioned to produce 5 minutes of animation, only 3 of which were used in the film. That sounds interesting. I wonder how that's incorporated. Of course, pretty much nothing could get me to see that movie, which looks relentlessly disgusting to the point of not being enjoyable.

America apparently feels the same way. The movie opened at number 12 this weekend. I read the review, and it sounds NOTHING like the book outside of the initial 10 worm bet.

read a review that some alterations from the book were suiting. i'm a fan of the HTEFW book. and enjoyed the different adapations over the years
