Honestly aside from graphical updates, it's pretty much just like an old school RPG going by some first impressions. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of random encounters(walking for a good 8 seconds straight w/no encounters is a fairly rare thing apparently). If you don't stock up on items and search the dungeons for items, more than likely you will die. Hardly any story what-so-ever, so there will be no cinematic breaks and such(the CGI intro is the only CGI part in the game) but they did add some character interaction dialouge. A good portion of the classes are still useless in battle despite the modifications. The Capacity points were modified. Other than that, there's really no major lengtheners or changes from the original. You can play entirely with the stylus, but you don't have to. So in otherwords be prepared for the oldstyle unrefined systems RPGs used to use, you pretty much are going to have to have a good level of commitment.

The US release date has been moved to November, this is so it can ride the coat tails of Final Fantasy 12(3 is being released on the 14th of November)

However FF7:Crisis Core is still under the heavy veil of secrecy, apparently this is their next big thing on the calibur of FF12 or Kingdom hearts 2.

Why can't they ever make it like Pokemon or something, where random encounters are sectioned off into zones so you can actually focus on where your going in the game.

We'll level up like good children, promise.

And if not...well then we won't be able to beat the bosses, now will we?

Ah but this game was released in a time before memory cards originally, and like all the other remakes, the system itself is still pretty much like the original. Everything was based around D&D-esque rules. Also considering how linear 1 and 2 were, this was only their third game and there was quality issues that came up for the US audiance. I mean the next FF game the US got was FF4 easy type, they thought we were unprepared for Xeromus hardtype

We did eventually get FF4 Hardtype with Chrono Trigger in Final Fantasy Chronicles. I had no trouble with the game though, except for the feature where any button pressed would advance Dialouge, that got annoying.

I'm prepared for FFIII, I'm kind of glad they didn't change it too much gameplay wise. I like a lot of random battles, it keeps you on your toes, but too much of it can be a drag at times, especially when you just want to get from point A to point B easily, though there might be an item that lessens the encounter rate.

Yeah, I noticed it came out. Also, the bundle with the new FF DSL comes out to about $350 off of play-asia. So it looks like I won't be getting it, as that is about $100 more than I thought it would be.

Really hope we get the bundle over here. I'll be pissed if we don't.

Damnit! I'm getting a DS just for this and the new pokemon games and now I got to deal with insane amounts of random battles AGAIN!!!!! FFI and II Dawn Of Souls nearly drove me to insanity and now III is going to be the same!!!! *Dies*

Prepare to be pissed then, because I really doubt we see that FFIII DS Lite bundle outside of Japan. It has "rare" written all over it.
