I like the idea behind Spawn. But Todd McFarlane has said that Spawn is just Batman, The Punisher, Superman, and others all rolled into one. And I just can't get into it.

spawn is a "real comic"?!?!? AHAHAHAHA... since when did 3 pages of comic with a crappy story and 21 pages of advertising become a "real comic"?

I've read Spawn and it seems pretty fake to me, :D.
What do you mean by real comics? Independent ones like Milk and Cheese, Johnny the Homocidal Maniac, or Poison Elves? Or just stuff that's not Marvel and DC?
One of my favorites is Savage Dragon. To me that's a real comic.

This thread is not going to turn out successfully. This just feels too much like a flame war to me, and we can't have that. If you want to discuss Spawn, this is the place for it, but please do it without inflammatory comments. These kind of threads never turn out well, thus the reason for the closing of it instead of just putting it on probation. I know that it would end up closed anyway. I've been on the boards too long to know how these things turn out.
