Gravion is it good?

Yes, extremely awesome robot fights.

However it has a TON of fanservice and boobs.

Get the first set, or you will have no idea what the heck is going on or who anyone is. Gravion Zwei is a direct sequel.

Get the first set, or you will have no idea what the heck is going on or who anyone is. Gravion Zwei is a direct sequel. I've read some reviews say that while it may help to watch the original series first, it's not entirely necessary to do so, as it's fairly easy to pick up the character traits very quickly. This doesn't necessarily mean that I'll avoid the original Gravion completely, but I'm just saying what I've read.

I too considered picking up Gravion (I got some gift certificate at a store) but I heard lots of mixed comment... I heard the story sorta stalls or something...

It's nowhere near as good as Godannar or GaoGaiGar. The fanservice isn't intelligent and the robot battles leave something to be desired.

And the Gravion combination is a near-exact replica of GGG's Final Fusion. That irks me for some reason.

It's robots and boobs. If you' liek your mecha combat with a side of gratuitous fan service, then it's gonna be your taste. If it isn't, there are betetr mecha show out ther for the money, like Votoms.
