With Super Smash Bros Brawl coming out next year, we are going to do a little speculation of What if Disney and THQ made a Super Smash Bros inspired fighting game involving Disney cartoon characters of the past and present? What characters and worlds do you want in it?

Here is my list of Characters I like to have in it:
Immediately unlockable at the start:
Marilyn Piquel (Bonkers)
Kim Possible
Mickey Mouse
Goofy
Donald Duck
Huey
Dewey
Louie
Lucky Piquel
Pete
Spinelli (Recess)
Scrooge McDuck

Unlockable characters:
Jake Long
Haley Long
Trixie
Bonkers D. Bobcat
Flintheart Glomgold
Penny Proud
Ron Stoppible
Drakken
Bonnie
TJ
Gretchen
all the girls from W*I*T*C*H
Spud
Teamo Supremo (Crendell, Skate Lad and Rope Girl)

I think a cross over of their movies would be more likely.

The KH characters could make a special appearance too, as Disney owns them.

If (and that's a big IF considering I'm sure Disney would never allow a game featuring their characters wailing on each other) a game like this was to be released I highly, HIGHLY doubt a majority of the characters on this list would be included, especially Marilyn Piquel - a minor character from a minor 13 year-old show whose internet fandom baffles me.

If Disney did a game like this I'm assuming they'd stick stick to their most popular characters, characters with instant name recognition. Kim Possible is really the only television character on the list here who even approaches that sort of popularity.

Here's a much more down to earth list (using almost the same amount of characters) -

Mickey Mouse
Minnie Mouse
Goofy
Donald Duck
Pluto
Huey
Dewey
Louie
Scrooge McDuck
Lilo
Stitch
Kim Possible
Aladdin
Ariel
Pete
Daisy Duck
Chip Dale
Jafar
Timon
Pumbaa
Simba
Baloo
Winnie the Pooh
Tigger
Princess Jasmine
Genie

Why does it seem to me like many Disney fans today think Disney animation begins and ends with the Disney Channel?

This thread fails for lacking both Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck (and Gizmo Duck for that matter).

Gargoyles DVD sets arent selling and Disney is going to put them in a video game? Sadly I don't see that happening at this point. Darkwing and Gizmo would be nice, but I wouldnt count on that either.

I think my list is as close as realistic as you'd ever get WITHOUT incorporating Nightmare Before Christmas or the Pixar films.

...though I guess if the list included the Pixar characters one could probably gut about 2/3rd of the list and throw in The Incredibles family, Nemo, Dory, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Flik, Lightening McQueen, Mater, Mike and Sully. It seems to be the way the Disney company is going.

No Brandy & Mr.Whiskers? No Dave the Barbarian?

Some of those characters don't seem capable of fighting.

Fighting in which way? These are Disney characters and even if a game was made featuring them it would be very child friendly with little violence. Like I said before...Disney isnt going to let their characters wail on each other.

And no. No Brandy, Mr. Whiskers or Dave the Barbarian. I dont think of any of them when I think of Disney characters.

It would be very odd to watch Mickey pwn Goliath in a brawl.

Aww...so I can't see Pluto do some type of mauling fatality on Mickey Mouse? Bummer.... :p

I can tell I'm out of the Disney loop. Many of the characters listed here aren't familiar to me at all.

Well, if it was the Kingdom Hearts Mickey, I could see that happening.

Darkwing and Gizmo would be nice, but I wouldnt count on that either. The SLG Gargoyles issue 1 comic sold out and we don't know what Disney considered to be "great DVD sales", but checking Amazon.com, they do go though their stock of Gargoyles DVDs every few weeks.

So, it is a legitimate gripe to complain about not putting Gargoyles characters in a fighting game.

Just think of the characters in the series that would be prefect for a fighting game.

Goliath of course.

Xanatos in his red gargoyle armor.

Demona

Macbeth with his gear

The Steel Clan

The Pack (and Matrix), both before and after Episode "Upgrade".

And I am only scratching the surface.

And think of the fun Puck could have.

And there is the Archmage

A Gargoyles fighting game would be one of those games where you can literally have everything from space aliens to King Arthor in it.

So it is something to think about.

Why Not? Dave can fight.

Why Not? Dave can fight.

He's also from a very short-lived series.

And not something I'm sure Disney wants to waste time and energy to promote anymore. Not when the original shorts characters, Pooh and the Pixar characters are the real "evergreen" characters over the "15 minutes of fame" television characters.

Once again another thread has been made that has outlived one I made that's similar in topic....

All that side, I think it would be an awesome idea, especially if it's an online game.
First, they should promote it as a Disney game where our favorite toons from the past and present come to show who's top toon. That way, all old fan favorites will appear hidden characters.
Second, and most importantly, not make it too violent, by adding cartoonish sound effects or bang and pow speech balloons.
Third, they should make it more Jump Superstar-ish by having people make tag team groups, and have characters that in no way would fight, appear to help out, like boost their speed, or throw in an extra punch.
Fourth, use KH version of Mickey, Goofy and Donald.

THQ = No!

Nintendo (EAD) and/or HAL Laboratory Inc./Sora and/or Capcom = Yes.

This thread is kind of silly. You're debating whether Disney will create a game where Mickey Mouse can punch Minnie in the face. It'll never happen.

Who'd make Minnie a fighting character?

After reading this entire thread I just can't see Disney making or even conceiving of a Super Smash Brothers type of game.

I mean sure you would have Kim Possible Waylaying it on with Shego.. but Come on.. Mickey Punching Minnie? Pooh Punching Eeyore? Fang (From Dave the Barbarian) punching Ron Stoppable (Who's afraid of Monkeys (Fang: I AM NOT A MONKEY!)

I mean I can see Negaduck taking on Darkwing Duck, even Taurus Bulba taking on DW Duck.. but Huey, Dewey, and Louie? Nah..

And what about Mickey and Pegleg Pete (aka Pete from Goof Troop... hardly...

Sure it sounds like if they did do that.. well then Disney wouldn't be Disney.. instead Disney would be Nintendo...

Oh and that Kim Possible / Shego angle? Check out Kim Possible: Global Geminii This fall for the PS2.. that'll maybe show you what a creative idea might be all about.

Nuff said.

Pooh would completely wreck Eeyore. He'd mess Piglet's **** up too.

I'd only play the game to kick Jake Long's *** with Darkwing Duck.

You know... I think an SSB-esque game with major American Icons would be better done with Time Warner than Disney since then you get the combined DC Comics, the Looney Toons, Hanna-Barbera, and Cartoon Network character catalogue, and known characters with more usable powers.
