This is a bit iffy for me but I voted for WB. When their cartoons are on they're great (BTAS, TNBA, BB, STAS, JL--yeah I like the superhero ones :) ) and easily my favorites.

It's just trying to get them back on TV after new episodes are done, or on DVD that makes me not care for WB.

Hrm...I voted other...but it's a tie for two studios who didn't make the cut
Sony - Big Guy & Rusty, MIB, Jackie Chan Adventures...Sony's cartoons kick ass, are funny...and while the animation isn't the best around, the stories they tell are.

MainFrame Entertainment - One Word, and the word is Daemon..er Reboot!

MainFrame! Hurray for Canadian stuff! It's in BC. :D

Is this limited to television shows? Cuz if not, DreamWorks is pretty good.

Agreed on both choices!

However, I voted for Disney because some of their TV Series are among my absolute favorites such as Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin, Gargoyles, Hercules, Aladdin, Tarzan, etc.

That's crazy how come Rankin Bass isn't in this thing???? Oh well.

If we're counting anime then definately Sunrise.

GWG! :D

I love He-Man and She-Ra, but I would disagree about Filmation being a good production studio overall, even the people working there made fun of it. :p I give credit to the writers and Lou Scheimer for making He-Man and She-Ra into great cartoon series. Check out The He-Man/She-Ra Episode Review Site (http://www.heman-shera.com) for the inside jokes made about Filmation by its employees. There's a few there. This is also one of the best sites on the net for reviews and special features of any series, animated or live action. :D

As for my personal opinion about which production company is the best, it would be hard for me to decide, cuz all of them have their high points and low. And they turn out great series at different times too, so I can't give the title of "best" to any one company. :)

I'm going to say Sony is the best American(MiB has the best animation of about any show...), Mainframe is the God of CGI animation!(All the American CGI companies suck. Except Pixar.). As far as anime-translation companies, I'd say Viz & Pioneer.

I voted for WB. They do really have the best libary of cartoons in the world. I just wish somebody high up there would treat them better when it comes to TV airings and home video release.

Here are my pics for favorite animation studio

Warner Bros.
Their golden age cartoons are the best around, and their silver age shows continue the tradition. some of the more recent comedy cartoons like Histeria, and Detention aren't as good as the shows from the early 90's like Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Taz Mania, and Freakazoid, but the've had a good consistant track record with their DC related shows like Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond, and Justice Leauge.

Hanna-Barbera
(Cartoon Network Studios)
While Bill Hanna (God rest his soul), and Joe Barbera's studio has had it's share of highs, and lows over a 40 year period, these two men have made a name for themselves in the animation industry. When they worked at MGM producing the Tom & Jerry cartoons, their work was fantastic, and won seven out of 12 Oscar nominations to prove it. When MGM decided to get out of animated shorts, Bill, and Joe struck out on their own, and had to work with what they got within the television guidelines to keep animation alive. Despite that, they became one of the pioneers of primetime animation in the 60's, and after that , they dominated saturday mornings throughout the 70's, and the 80's. They have given us great characters like Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Scooby-Doo. In the mid 90's, a new generation of characters emerged form the likes of Genndy Tartakovski, (Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack) Craig McKracken, (Powerpuff Girls) Van Partible, (Johnny Bravo) and David Fiese.(Cow & Chicken, I Am Weasel) breathing new life into the studio.

Disney
The house that Walt build has truly set the standard for animation as we know it, and made a bigger impact when the studio got into tv animation in the mid 80's. With Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Bonkers, and Gargoyles leading the way. Sadly, Disney has become a shadow of it's former self as of late. The creative steam is running very low with lame ideas, and video sequles that aren't nessacery. Walt may be turning in his grave, but he has left behind a wonderful animated legacy reguardless.

Filmation
Lou Schimer's studio may not have been the best in the world, but they've given us He-Man, She-Ra, and Fat Alber. Alot of talented people work at that studio. like Paul Dini, Tom Ruegger, Bruce Timm, Michele Reeves, Bob Forward, J. Michael Straczynski, and of course Bill Cosby. Filmation was also know for cutting costs in production by re-using alot of their animation cels, while at the same time using cutting edge special effects in their cartoons. Sadly, L'Oreal bought the studio, closing it's doors forever, and when Halmark bought it's library out from L'Oreal, very little of it's shows have sen the light of day as of late.
