It looks like DC Comics is starting to understand the power of the internet as they have been creating new online sections for some of their upcoming projects, characters, and storylines.
Minisites dedicated to SEPTEMBER 11 Volumes 1 and 2 are now up at http://www.comics911.com/ and http://www.dccomics.com/features/911/911.html, respectively.
The SEPTEMBER 11 Volume 1 minisite, at http://www.comics911.com/, includes complete credits for both volumes, consumer and retailer purchasing information including other comics projects that benefit September 11-related charities, a list of other September 11-related charities, and editorial information about SEPTEMBER 11 Volumes 1 and 2.
The SEPTEMBER 11 Volume 2 minisite, at http://www.dccomics.com/features/911/911.html, includes an article on the project, a selection of some of the book's pin-ups, three brief e-comics, links to solicitation information about both volumes, and a blurb about an upcoming exhibit at Exit Art gallery in New York City.
Now up at DCComics.com are minisites based on the "Bruce Wayne: Murderer?" storyline at http://www.dccomics.com/features/bwmurd/batmurder.html and THE FLASH at http://www.dccomics.com/features/theflash/index.html.
The minisite featuring THE FLASH includes an e-comic version of THE FLASH #170, the first story by the book's current creative team of Geoff Johns, Scott Kolins, and Doug Hazlewood, which kicks off the adventure being collected this March in THE FLASH: BLOOD WILL RUN TP (JAN020592). Also at this minisite is a timeline of super-speedsters from the 19th century to the distant future, desktop images, character bios, and links to FLASH backlist items.
The "Bruce Wayne: Murderer?" minisite includes a printable checklist with cover art from all 12 issues in the storyline, BATMAN: THE 10-CENT ADVENTURE as an e-comic, plus links to all the titles in the storyline.
DC Comics is expected to announce more online sections soon.
