There is a plot summary of The Door on the Internet Movie Data Base, so it is out there somewhere. When I e-mailed the person who reviewed it, he said he saw it at a ASIFA-Hollywood screening. The copy was from someone's private collection. Has anybody else seen it besides the imdb reviewer?

I've never seen it, but Jerry Beck said to me once that it wasn't even a Warner Brothers cartoon, it was animated independently and released under Warner's name in property. He said that he meant to change it in his book if it ever came out with an updated edition.

Warners apprently picked up the cartoon in part because it was co-produced by Bill Cosby, who had made Warners a lot of money over the previous three years with his series of comedy records. From Jerry's description, it sounds like a "think piece" cartoon similar to "Norman Normal" but not as funny.

"THE DOOR"...
I might have seen it in college, not sure, but if I did then I walked in late and missed the titles... Definitely saw "Norman Normal" on the college big screen along with a WHOLE LOT of DePatie-Freleng toons and even "Corn On The Cop". (And NO I was NOT in college in the Sixties... just had a very cool  film programmer!).
There also MAY possibly be another reason for Warner's having picked up "The Door"... ;) ;)
