Not the whole episode, but just the Luffy vs. Blueno fight. I must say, Gear 2nd was animated perfectly.
Poor Blueno... Never stood a chance.

Nice to see this animated finally. I take it they showed this at the very end of the episode like the previous 4 and wasted time on the crew crying while trying to push foward.

My word... what power. Kinda reminds me of when Toei (in GT) animated Goku to look a bit shiney skin wise.
But seriously this whole concept is a bit laughable because it makes he like one giant errection or in shonen terms... uber hotblooded.

So, were the previous episodes filler and Toei was able to get back to adapting the manga, or were the previous episodes already in the manga?

Ah, just like Dragonball and Dragonball Z. The producers of Kenshin, Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha could learn from TOEI about stretching out manga material.

Yeah. But I'd expect after Eneis Lobby is over, the anime will go into filler for awhile.

Well I'd like future episodes to just focus on the fights at hand rather than jump back and forth between 5 stories in under 20 minutes. Because I remember older episodes of OP didn't really do this when a fight began (until Skypiea) and this whole fight could've been one episode.

I was watching this with my 9-year old sister and because there were no subtitles, we were filling in for them. :anime: :D :anime:
Really fun too! Although, my sister just had to throw in a: "You mess with the bull, you get the horns!" line.

I know. She was referring to Blueno. I was just upset because it seemed like a really bad pun at the time.
Anyways, I'm off-topic. There's really not much to say about Gear 2 other than Jet Bazooka rules!!!

Sweet, Gear Second looks awesome in animation.

Is that actual animation I see? Been awhile since Toei has bothered to bless One Piece with that.
I'm surprised Toei didn't stretch the fight for the whole episode. nice.

And to think they had to resort to drawing everyone in the same art style as Movie 6 just to get that kind of fluid animation when Luffy vs. Blueno was just starting.:D
I'm hoping they keep this up for the CP9 match-ups. Especially where Sanji's fight is concerned.

Beat DBZ's episode count? Yes.
The question is: Will it beat the episode count of the total Dragonball universe(508)?

Judging from the where the comic is I bet it will, heck they aren't even on the second half of the Grand Line...

...what? They've been in the Grandline since after Loguetown. Maybe you're thinking the Redline (the perpendicular contintent that runs vertically across the world)

That and I should have asked if they were close to getting One Piece.

Supposesedly the Straw Hat Pirate crew has yet to reach the halfway point of the GL. The One Piece is said to be on Raftel Island, which I believe is on the 'other half' of this GL and it is where I am willing to bet Whitebeard and Shanks' crew currently reside.

The second gear version of Gomu Gomu Bazooka looked really cool! (don't remember the actual name)
Is it me or is Luffy more mature-looking? Or maybe I've known before and I haven't noticed!

They've all (except Chopper) looked more mature recently in the manga, so I'm guessing the animators are simply following suit.
I'm not sure wther Oda's actively trying to do this, or its just the way his art style is changing.
As to the Grand Line thing, they need to pass over a section of the Red Line again to reach the second half....which could very well be after this arc.

I thought Oda said that the Fishmen Island was on the first half, and that the Strawhats would go there eventually.

I don't think so. The timeline is pretty tight, seems like its only been a few months at most.
I bet captain Buggy will regret not trying to kill Luffy before this right :)
i just hope if he does return it wont be to lose as a joke that would be depressing and much like team rocket of pokemon

Depends on how long they've been travelling between islands...when you get down to it, most of the adventures took place in a week or less, some in a matter of hours.

Now if we could have an entire anime series have that quality of animation throughout the show's run, anime would look a lot less cheesy.

Although that was good (reminded me of Dragon Ball) I still don't like One Piece. Goodness, most of what's been created this generation, is nowhere near the level of previous generations. It's a pity, but most young people just don't understand that.

There's alot of good shows made this generation.
Well, you may not agree so, but plenty of other people like One Piece, Naruto, and the like...

Said the guy who thinks DBZ dosen't drag.

One Piece is the DBZ of today, just more exciting and not-so-dragging-on-ish.
Hmmm...I can see what you mean about some titles these days. Naruto and Bleach, sure they have their moments but they don't seem as fulfilling as say, One Piece, or Death Note (I'm hooked, sorry!).
