Skyland 1-Hour Premiere Movie to Air on Nick 8/11

The one-hour premiere of Skyland from Nicktoons Network WAS GOING to air on Nickelodeon. It WOULD HAVE aired Friday, August 11 from 8-9PM.

Nickelodeon replace it a week in advance with a repeat showing of "Rugrats in Paris". So far, no new date has been announced. Stay tuned.

I'm really going to (expletive) Nickelodeon up if they get this before Nicktoons Network.

Cosmos and Wandas and Spongebobs are going to explode in their offices. Cotton and plastic all over.

This one-hour special did premiere on Nicktoons Network last November. Its just new to Nickelodeon.

I bet Nick wants to build up a Sunday action block (again, remember SLAM). This is just my speculation, but this is what I think they want come September:

11:00AM Kappa Mikey (which really does start 8/20)
11:30AM Shuriken School (which really does start 8/20)
12:00PM Avatar: The Last Airbender (my speculation)
12:30PM Skyland (my speculation)

I wouldn't even be suprised if they were to move new episodes of Avatar here that way they can air their 'normal' Nicktoons on Friday nights.

Remember, this is my speculation (some people get confused between whats really happening and what I'm guessing). :)

From what I've seen of Skyland, it might truly kick butt. I'm looking forward to this.

As for it airing on Nick...well, Nick's had a hard time lately. Three of its new series are duds (Just for Kicks, The X's, Catscratch). And its old reliables like FOP and Jimmy Neutron have faded considerably (as the wimpy performance of JTPH3 up against Disney proved). So maybe that's why Nick is leeching off of its sister network to pump up its schedule. Makes sense to me.

I haven't caught Skyland yet, even though I've had at least two chances on NN. I will try to catch it this weekend :) .

I saw Skyland. I dislike the "animation," it's pretty jarring. At least the backgrounds are really pretty.

That's of no consequence. But, my "complaining," as it seems to be, is... and, it's not right. Consider that done and over with; a show's a show's a show, and wherever it airs, it should be fine.

They have now removed the airing from Friday, August 11. Now Rugrats in Paris will be show Friday and SpongeBob on Saturday w/ Thugaboo. (8/12)

Maybe they are waiting for the other two new shows on 8/20?

I hope nick makes an action block but not on saturday (they would get murdered by naruto) and make it friday or maybe monday night. and make it maybe 2 hours from 7.0 to 9.0

Everywhere you turn, there's competition. "Fridays" on Cartoon Network on Fridays. Toonami on Cartoon Network on Saturdays. Jetix (primarily) on Toon Disney on Mondays. The only choice Nick has given itself is Sunday mornings, where every kid is either asleep, at church (or temple, etc), fishing with Dad, or watching the Disney Channel.

At this point in time, it's too late for Nick to establish its own action/adventure block. Toonami's been running since 1997 and Jetix/Fox Kids has been in existence for over a decade. And, I'm supposed to believe that anything Nickelodeon could do would become an overnight success?

Off Main Topic: Did anyone even notice "Thugaboo: Sneaker Madness" for Saturday 8/12 at 9 p.m. on Nick. Well Nicktoons Network will get it first on Friday, August 11, it will PREMIERE from 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. and then air on Nick the next night. Weird? Is Nick really afraid of C:KND movie on 8/11??? LOL! Maybe they should be, considering Disney is smashing them each week now in ratings, CN might do the same (at least for that night :) ).

Lol...same thing happened last year between Nick and CN. Only this was involving the premieres of Catscratch and Camp Lazlo. I think Catscratch was planned to premiere in it's normal Friday night slot, but once Nick found out Camp Lazlo was premiering the same night, they switched Catsratch's premire date to Saturday (the next day), instead.

I don't think Nick likes competition like that, anymore - ever since thier TV Movies/Specials have been doing badly compared to other networks (ie Disney).

Can't wait to see KND's ratings! Even though I really can't stand the show, I wonder if the "new CN" can pull off good ratings with thier first TV Movie. :)

I agree. I'm not a KND fan, but I have seen an episode or two. I watched the 5 minute preview on CN's website, and it looks really good, so I think I will watch it that night.


OK, now I will get back on topic.

I hope they [Nick, remember] go for something on Sunday, August 20, like:

12:00PM Skyland (1 hour premiere)

Then the week after they could start having a 30-min. premiere of Skyland at noon and Avatar at 12:30. I would watch!
