This is really onen of my Favorite series, I've yet to play a bad installation. The only commplaint about Jak X though is lack of multitap support, other than that it's one of the deepest kart racing games ever.

Jak X is deep for a racing game, unfortunately I never enjoyed it. It didn't suck (though the control gets so damn loose and at times, the tracks are SO hard to see) it was just more boring then I thought, but storywise, I DO give it better then Jak 3, the one game in the series where I like to pretty it doesn't exist. Ugh. In all honesty, I perfer Naughty Dog's other racer Crash Team Racing. Now that game is fuuuuuuuun.

Then again, I pretty much loved the first and second Jak games over the third and fourth, the latter two I didn't enjoy much at all.

CTR to this day is one of the best Kart racers ever made

I prefer that over JX mainly because the single player mode was allaround better and the battle areas were better designed

Allthough i think Crash nitro kart and Crash Tag Team Racing may have done CTR justice, but I never played them. Crash went waaay downhill after it left ND

Allthough in the Jak series, the boss battles may be few and far inbetween, but they are very very well done. But it's also fun in Jak 2 and 3 to take guns and just wipeout hordes of enemies. The vheicle missions in jak 3 were far better than 2 though, especialy where you take the buggies and chase down and destroy those Dinosaur Metalheads.

If anything I hope that they make another Daxter Game, that takes place between jak X and Jak4. Considering that Insomniac is making a ratchet and Clank game for the PSP and the PS3, it would be nice if two new Jak games were coming as well.

The guy who designed the characters, is a friend & former teacher of mine (character design). He helps run Animation Nation.com.

I eliminated Jak 3 on the week I bought it. It was cool.

Jak 3 is my favorite plus Light Jak rocks! The glitch that lets you fly anywhere is one of the most entertaning glitchs I've ever used. I didn't mind the ending but I don't like that Jak didn't get Kera in the end.

I broke TWO controlers playing Jak X! Both of the controlers cause the characters in the game to move upward slowly without touching any buttons making some games damn imposible to play. I gave up on Jak X because of the terrible controls......

I chucked my PS2 out the window a few times while I was playing Jak 2 for the first time  I don't have Daxter because I don't have a PSP, and as crazy as it is I rank Jak And Daxter over Jak II but Jak 3 still beats them both.....IMO......

On a crazy note.....Samos is my favorite charater.....;)

Agreed. It's saying something when I say I perfer CTR to the majority of the Mario kart games I have played. CTR is THAT much fun to me and possibly one of THE best games I have ever played...ever.

Take my word for it: NO. CNK isn't really bad, but it's PAINFULLY boring. CTTR...well, I haven't played it either, but I certainly don't have any fond thoughts for it once I get it, I'm betting.

Man, I HATED those durn buggies, so difficult to control.

To me, I kinda just hope the Jak series would just end right now. I feel five games is enough and the game alread has a sense of "closure" while stll leaving mysterious questions left to be answered. Perhaps I just don't want the Jak series to start deterioating like my beloved Crash series.

I've only played the first three PS2 Jak games (haven't decided if I want to get Jak X). Story-wise, Jak 2 is the best because it's long, deep, and well-thought out. Jak 3's story, while entertaining, felt like it was written by someone who 1) wasn't very familiar with the second game's more subtle story points, and 2) condensed things a bit too much. Seriously, a lot of the plot points in Jak 3 couldn't worked a lot better if fleshed out more. And the main villain in the third game? It just didn't feel right...

In terms of gameplay, however, I'd have to give the nod to Jak 3. Jak 2 was awesome when I first played it, but the attempt to give it a Grand Theft Auto style world didn't quite hit the mark. The world feels a bit hollow and doesn't contain enough things to make exploring it worthwhile. Jak 3, however, focuses more on the gameplay and succeeds very well in that regard. The buggies are more fun than the hovercraft.

Of course, I would love for there to be a fourth installment in the Jak series, but I believe one of the games' creators specifically stated they won't be making another Jak game in terms of the main story, which is a pity.

Agreed. Aside from what you put it, all the main characters and villains in Jak II were some of the most well played out of the entire Jak series, each having a useful role they contributed to the overall plot. They are filled with charm and personality the third one just doesn't have. I especially like Jak's growth here. He starts off with that annoying angst-filled game character I dislike, but throughout the course of the game, he gradually evolves into the hero that he is.

Jak 3's story was a...mess. A colossal mess. Characters not acting the way they acted the past two games (I'm still scratching my head on that so-called Jak/Ashelin, it seriously came out of nowhere), condensed story (like you said), some of the main characters being completely useless overall, and a revelation on the Precursors I absolutely found to be too anit-climatic.

Funny, I actually like Jak II's better. Granted, it is a LOT more frustrating, but it feels like it does a better job balancing random missions and platformings. To this day, I still play the Tomb of Mar stage because it's SO much platforming fun. I never found myself enjoying Jak 3 as much, despite it being less frustrating. Oh, and for me, I HATED those durn buggies. :D
