You sure they'll be new? They might just repeat again. Or did they start new ones yesturday? I haven't checked my recordings yet.

Finally, new episodes again... hopefully. But I doubt they'd repeat it again.

So, were they new episodes or reruns?

They're actually new. And quite enjoyable I might add.

Did anyone notice that they're now running Funimation commercials during the breaks?

Cool. I was getting real sick of those crappy PSAs.

And Kodocha restarts from episode 14. What the hell, FUNi.

But fortunately, the rest of the shows are continuing with new episodes.

No they're not. Galaxy Railways was a repeat and Spiral too!

FUNimation is stupid. Why do they do this!?

More importantly Kodocha 21 didn't air, they showed 22 twice (Thursday and Friday). Wazzup with that? At least Saturday and Sunday hasn't taken a break yet but I fear it could happen any day now.

Fresh V

No they're not. Galaxy Railways was a repeat and Spiral too! Yeah, I saw. I just assumed they still were in new episode mode, since they still were on Friday when Kodocha repeated the episode from the day before. Well, at least Case Closed is continuing.

Seriously, FUNi. What the hell is up with this? We were getting so close to the end of Spiral, too... =(

I hope not. Baki the Grappler is getting good now. Tenchi Muyo! GXP is a laugh for me.

But, yeah, just when we were getting so close to ending Spiral and Galaxy Railways too!

Dang. I hadn't checked my recordings yet, so that's disappointing. Well, I'll just have to keep waiting and watching.

Uh, what the heck is CoLours TV?

CoLoursTV is a multicultural channel on Dish Network Chan. 9407 or 9396 (depending on which Dish satellite serves your state.) Funimation TV runs from 10-midnite eastern with one schedule for M-F and a different show shedule Sat-Sun. It's included in all the Dish Network channel packages. It's not on DirecTV satellite at this time. As to cable availability, check with your local cable company.

Yes, I noticed they're now repeating the 2nd half of GalRail and Spiral. And I saw the commercials for Funi products and related games. I'll bet the folks in charge at CoLours are happy as hell about that. Finally, they can sell airtime for real commercial ads. Funi was smart to put its ads right where a preselected audience of anime nuts can see them. I always wonder why we don't see more anime/manga merchandise advertised on Adult Swim or Toonami. Maybe the ad rates are too high?

As a startup network, most of CoLours ad slots have been filled with free public service announcements. I also bet the Funi TV block is the highest-rated 2-hr. block on their entire schedule. (^_*)

At least Saturday and Sunday hasn't taken a break yet but I fear it could happen any day now.Not that I hope it does, but if it did I wouldn't mind too much. I've missed more episodes of Tenchi and Baki than I care to mention. Kiddy Grade, for some reason, I've managed to catch every time.

Bah! I got tired of Kiddy Grade. It's not that good.

Why is everyone assuming Funimation is to blame? The programming decisions for Colours TV are made by Colours' programming executives. Funimation probably has nothing to do with what gets shown when. I know the temptation is strong to just pile on any company that doesn't do everything perfectly to every fan's satisfaction, but Jeez, people, if you're gonna point fingers, point 'em in the right direction.

Well the new episodes were fun while they lasted. Upside is I get to see the eps. I missed and they're showing promos for Funi stuff now.

While it is possible for Colours TV to screw up and play the wrong tape now and then, like say that Kodocha episode airing twice, it would be the Funimation people that determine, "Okay, we're going to stop showing new episodes and have a block of replays now."

Not necessarily true in this case. The shows Funimation is showing on Colours is not really first-run; the material has been available on home-video for months and, in a few cases, years. Plus, both Case Closed and Blue Gender have played in other markets. More likely Funimation has bartered a programming block and provided the package, but is leaving the day-to-day decisions to Colours.

We'll have to wait and see. But what I really want to know is if they'll ever air that other Kodocha. They seem to be skipping 21 for whatever reason.

Dammit, they skipped it again? I forgot to watch that day, so I thought they aired it. That's weird.

But I'm pretty sure they'll resume with new episodes today. I think they'll stop at episode 26 and rerun 22-26 again. I wonder what'll replace Galaxy Railways and Spiral, and how long it'll be until they're replaced. Who knows how much they're gonna re-rerun them...

I wonder what'll replace Galaxy Railways and Spiral, and how long it'll be until they're replaced. Who knows how much they're gonna re-rerun them...Fruits Basket and Yu Yu Hakusho would be excellent choices. Or Negima. Of course, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the weekend shows moved over into some of the later weekday slots either.

I dunno. It seems they wanna use this block to give less popular shows more exposure, so I think they'd pick shows like Negima, Moon Phase, Gunslinger Girl, etc. Yu Yu and Fruits Basket are already plenty popular.

Ah, but they never planned to strip Gunslinger Girl on the syndicated block in the first place (too short for real syndication and a little too contriversial,) and now that it's booked for IFC, it's definitely off the table for syndication. Negima and Moon Phase might have syndication potential (as they are longer atleast,) but they might be viewed as little unaccessable as well, atleast relative to more action oriented titles (GXP, Kiddy Grade, Burst Angel, Black Cat) and straight up shojo titles (Kodocha, Fruits Basket.) Funimation, atleast from when I've talked to their reps, is being very careful and calculated with what they want to strip in the syndicated format because they want it to work well, especially once it starts airing on normal networks.

(Yu Yu is still owned by CN anyway IIRC.)

Yeah we don't quite know when CN's license of YYH expires. Chances are it'll expire sooner than Dragonball Z but it's anyone's guess. They certainly show no sign of airing it again.

As for what will air on the syndicated block. You need only to look at the full channel line-up to figure out what could potentialy replace Spiral and Galaxy Railways. I would assume Negima and Fruits Basket as they are the only shows on the linear listing besides Lupin movies that aren't already on the syndicated block. Moon Phase possibly... but it's not on there yet so it might not be ready. I've noticed Burst Angel is nowhere to be found on their linear channel listing. That really makes me believe that someone picked it up (random stab... G4). Gunslinger Girl is however so either IFC doesn't have it exclusively or they'll take it off when IFC starts showing it.

Black Cat's first DVD comes out in December. It probably wont be on they syndicated block until sometime next year and who knows... CN might pick it up.

Tsubasa doesn't even have any DVDs listed yet so I guess that's out for now.

So long story short... probably Negima and Fruits Basket will be the first shows to be switched in.

I don't know how far FUNi has dubbed Moon Phase, but the first two episodes have been on Comcast On Demand for a couple of months.

So it's gotta be soon.

It's been on there from the get go. They obviously have every intention of using it but for now they aren't.

The Funi TV block on CoLoursTV has had lots of Funi ads for Negima from 11-12 but no Fruits Basket. I don't know about the 10-11 hour since other family members usually control the TV before 11.

I wonder what kind of ad rates Funi is paying CoLours during the block. CoLours is struggling to get real ads to replace the PSAs its been running so I doubt they're giving the ad slots to Funi for free. Also interesting that Symantec has been advertising computer software during the Funi TV block on CoLours.

I haven't found anything on what kind of ratings the Funi block on CoLours block has been getting, but I'd bet its probably at or almost to being their top draw. (^_*)

They're ads for the DVDs basically so it's not surprising Furuba doesn't get much love in that department at this point. It had two sales runs already (singles and then a box set). But the manga is still going and selling like hot cakes so the franchise is plenty strong I imagine.
