More coverage!
Manga is the process of obtaining the materials and ironing out the contracts to release the Renewal version of the Evangelion movies. They hope to have those versions of the films out sometime next year if everything works out.

It's gonna be a looooooong wait for Karas Vol. 2. Well, no better time than to catch up on my huge backlog of stuff (like Hare+Guu).

With the corporate backing and GitS:SAC cash (mostly the corporate backing though,) they can get very serious. I think they always wanted to get things done, it's just that under Palm Pictures, they were stuck.
And now they're unstuck?
Well, that can't be a bad thing.

They've got cash flow now, and cash flow makes everything easier. Heck, they got Noein and did a very good job on it (pity the animation is so varied at points, but it's so cool that it doesn't matter almost,) and they are now in a position to not only co-pro a show, but be there so far in advance it's not even named yet.
PS: The Karas wait is the fault of Tatsunoko for not getting additional materials to them (little things like, oh cover art,) in a timely fashion, holding up the final DVD mastering, or atleast that's what I gleaned from the panel.

I suppose so. Still though, even with the Palm Pictures restrictions, their output was rather lackluster. They also kinda skunked the market for alot of other companies in how much they were willing to pay out for what little stuff they licensed. Hopefulyl things will be betetr under the Liberty peaople. Ther ewas already a marked improvement with IDT.

Oh, Liberty is looking like it'll allow them to explode forward, especially because they'll have a definite TV home almost regardless of what they pick up. Plus, if they can push into making good more co-pros, they'll get even more solid sales. All they need is a Karas a year to be a very profitable company with excellent product, and if they can back with Noeins and Tacticses, they could work themselves into a fairly sizable setup in the long term.

Well, I don't think having Starz their will stop them shopping stuff around, just act as a surefire back up (though some titles are just too violent, sexual or other wise odd for basic anyway in the Manga library.)

Lemme know when they decide to give Astro Boy a fully uncut release and maybe I'll learn to trust them a bit more.
