Why are they canceling this book. It once again outperformed Batman: Gotham Adventures. Here's the info:

Batman Beyond #22
Sales Rank: 131
Direct Sales: 13, 440 (260 more than B:GA)

I'll have more detailed info tomorrow on the newspage.

And it still boggles themind why? Why is DC and KWB washing their hands of this series when a live action movie is about three years away? The merchandise iss till fairly popular, and the cartoon still has a final episode to air.

It makes me wonder if there are political reasons this show is suddenly being dropped like a bad habit by WB. I had posted previously how I feel some shows get changed or altered purposely by the networks to get rid of certain shows they don't want any more, as if they are trying to get out of a contract legally. There must be somethings behind the scenes they aren't talking about.

Now if E would only do Batman Beyond, the True Hollywood Story!

I was sort of thinking the same thing. Maybe BATMAN BEYOND isn't the direction that KWB wants to go in, hence not renewing their contract for another season and placing in the timeslot of death. Whatever the cause is, I think it's a bit unfair. KWB is doing whatever they can to keep the Pokefad going, yet treating Batman Beyond like something passe.

Continue the comic? You can't be serious. I don't want Batman Beyond to go out that way. I want people to remember it as a shway show, not a lame comic book. Cancelling the comic is the only smart decision they have made

I think they should continue the comic, and get Paul Storrie, or Jason Rodriguez as the regular writers. Boot out Bader. The past two issues have been great, plus we've had some real good stories littered throughout a rathar embarrassing run. I like the ar tin the comic, so there's no fault there - except Min S. Ku should be in there more frequently. All the book needs is a new writer. Besides, BATMAN BEYOND wil always be remember as a show, and not a tired comic. Heck, hopefully be remember as a good movie when the time comes.

Well, part of the reason that its being dropped so quick might be from the bad experience WB had with their infamous decision to edit ROTJ. Maybe they just don't want to deal with the series anymore, and are trying to wash the taste from their mouth.

What boggles my mind even more is how the BB comic could possibly be outselling B:GA when it has been consistently poorly written by Bader!

WB and DC need to get there act together. if BB is basically their top selling animated style book, i can't understand the need to drop it. i guess we'll have to start writing our own stories if we want that BB fix...

Believe it or not, this book sells just shy of 2000 less than Azrael: Agent of the Bat, too. Anyways, I 'm still not sure why DC seems to be wahsing their hand sof this title. It outsells Impulse for cripes sake. I asked Rousseau if DC is cancelling it just to relaumch it, and he says that DC is done with it. What a blow this year has been.

Yes, continue the comic, but with a different team. (As DG pointed out.) This would allow us to get to see some of the shway stories that didn't make it to the TV screen, and to perhaps answer some more questions about Nightwing and the rest who never really got too much exposure on the series. And to continue to see the "beyondizing" of villians we never got to see updated in the series. I think in the right hands, the comic book series could be just as good as the TV series. Unfortunately, that will never be.
