View Full Version : So...is anyone interested in the new Scooby Doo cartoon?

I must say I will check it out. I'm not a fan most of the other series (A Pup Named Scooby Doo was the last straw for me), but I do enjoy the feature length movies. So when I heard that WB is going to spend $400,000 per episode for a new series and try to update it *just* a little, while keeping the characters the same seems like a good idea. Although the series probably won't fly too well once the live action movie bombs (if it doesn't I'll eat a bug).
So is anyone else going to check it out when it premieres?

I'll check it out, but I'll have to see if it will get my full-time viewership.
Animaniacs!

(I'd never used them before so I just went for it)

As long as there's no Scappy-Doo, I might give it a look. (Let's all pretend that Scappy- Doo, and "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" never happened.) Of Course I don't plan on seeing the live action film either. The video films were pretty decent. "Alien Invaders", and "Cyber Chase" wern't as good as the first two, but they were way better than say "Scooby-Doo & The Ghoul School" (By was that bad. Bill Hanna & Joe Barbera should be ashamed for letting that one out.) I wouldn't be surprised if Frank Welker came back for this new series. We'll see.

It'll be worth a look, but I can't say I'm a huge Scooby fan.

There were episodes of the original series I liked, but just haven't been to crazy about it since.

I may give it a try. The watche done or two of the DTVs and they weren't that bad, actually. If TMS is animating these episodes, like the movies, then they may definatly be worth checking out - even if just for the animation.

I like Scooby the character, but hated the show. Still, the D2Vs were extrordinarily good, and if the TV show picks up that torch I'll give it a shot.

Sigh...I just don't understand the Scooby-Doo nostalgia. All of the shows were terrible! Really!
(Just my opinion, of course.)

Nope, I never really did like that show.

Didn't watch it much although I caught whenever I could, somehow I just feel I can relate to Shaggy. :D
I might check it out, just hope it doesn't have a lot of publicity on it for the live-action movie cause the movie judging by the cast and a cgi scoob it just can't even begin to relate to the shows except for the characters and their names. Don't like the teaser trailer they have in the movies either, it got my hopes up cause it sounded alot like what Batman: Year One could be.

Somehow I have a feeling that Bill Hanna, and Don Messick will be turning in their graves over the live action movie.

Aha! I finally remembered who did the animation... believe it or not, it wasn't TMS! It was some studio called Mook. But even though I've never heard of them, they did a great job!

I agree. I'm going to give the show a chance and hopefully something good will come from it. I, too, liked the D2Vs. The show can be great, it just depends on who's writing.

As long as it has more in common with the direct-to-video movies (which I love) and not the live-action (ahem) movie, I'll be a fan for life.
