Can a new "Silver Surfer" cartoon happen?

With Marvel announcing that Fantastic Four 2 is going to be called Fantastic Four and The Silver Surfer do you think this could lead to a new Silver Surfer cartoon? Should it?

If the movie proves to be popular enough then yes. Maybe as a spin-off from the new FF series with the same creative team.

hopefully it will happen sooner than later.. and I don't want it watered down like the FoxKids show.. thanos worships Death, not 'lady chaos'.. and Mephisto is a demon, not some alien warlord..

I like many of the Marvel space characters: the Silver Surfer, Nova (both of them actually), Galactus, Thanos, Drax, Beta Ray Bill and Adam Warlock. (However, I loathe Pip the Troll.)

Unfortunately, I don't think the original Silver Surfer cartoon did its cast justice. It was well-intentioned, but it was too pretentious. For all of its high-falutin', it wasn't any fun.

A cartoon following the space nomad from adventure to adventure could be cool, especially if they Kirby it up. A lot of these epic, galactic characters could be a blast if taken slightly less seriously.

I think this is the first time I wished a cartoon were more shallow.

as for Silver Surfer, I think he works best as a guest star than a leading character. I watched 2-3 eps of the FOX series and was not impressed. Of course, I make the mistake of comparing all superhero shows to the DCAU and by that measure few stack up. I've learned to be a bit more lenient. Hopefully Silver Surfer will be one of many gust characters on the upcoming FF series this Fall. I believe the Hulk is a confirmed guest character for S1.

Making Silver Surfer a guest star would be the most logical choice. It is a given that the show will do the Galactus saga and that would lead into the Silver Surfer being introduced for sure. I think he could hold his own series as it could be a more sci-fi/cosmic based action show but he probably would be more effective as just a guest star who pops in every once and awhile.
