How many more shows will Toonami need before the powers that be at Cartoon Network decide to make it a seperate network?
Heck, Disney made a channel for it's cartoons, so why not one for Toonami?

I heard a while ago that CN's second network was almost planned to be the Toonami network, but ended up being Boomerang instead. But this was just a rumor anyway...
I doubt CN would create a Toonami channel. Williams Street (creators of Toonami) already have their hands full with Toonami and Adult Swim. A 24 hour Toonami channel is out of reach.

Well, they would need the broadcast rights to about 24 half-hour programs which would give them 12 hours of broadcast time (that's how Boomerang started, I think). Ideally they'd probably want about 35-40 half-hour shows as some things will be repeated multiple times during the day and you can't run a show indefinitely. And then when they start up the network they’re going to need to start looking for additional shows so that they can rotate things in and out.
Needless to say it's going to be quite awhile before Toonami gets it's own network, that is if CN wants to give the block up.

It will never happen. Cartoon Network makes too much money off of toonami. If Toonami goes to another network, CN loses viewers and advertising money. I hear Boomerang is a successful channel(I'm not sure about this, does ANYONE watch that channel? I don't even get it with satellite). But Boomerang doesn't really take away viewers of CN. As for the Disney, it has two premium channels I think, thats why all of their commercials are for disney shows. If they wanted to make a premium Toonami channel, that might work, but I think that CN looked into it and decided that it wouldn't be worth it.
On a more personal note, I'm glad Toonami is limited in time. I have work and school and barely enough time for the shows they have now. If it wasn't for VCRs, I would never see anything except the midnight run. It also means it can be of higher quality. If there was a 24 hour network I wonder if we would get the cool commercials or specials that we get now.

It would take forever to find enough acquisitions to do that.
Right now, WS is busy looking for stuff to fill in the afternoon block.

I like Toonami right where it is. It brings balance to the network, action shows along with comedy and oldies. The only thing CN needs is more 80's cartoons. Do that, and they'll be no need for a Toonami channel.

Personally, I hope that at the very least, Toonami gets its third hour back, and that "Super Saturday " becomes something more than DBZ times 4.

Agreed. I think before we ask for a Toonami network, we should get the current Toonami lineup back to where it used to be. It's definitely making steps in the right direction now.
