Kids' WB! Talkback: "Spider Riders"- July (Spoilers)

11 year old Hunter has followed directions from his grandfather to find the entry way to the subterannean world of Arachnia, but on the way a manacle attaches itself to his wrist, and Hunter begins on a quest to learn exactly what it means to be a Spider Rider. This is the official talkback for "Spider Riders" month of July on Kids' WB! The action begins today, July 1, with a special marathon of the first 4 episodes starting at 10 AM, and then new episodes resume July 8 at 10:30 AM EDT.

2) "Never Give Up"- Originally premiered June 17 (encore July 1)
3) "First Impressions"- Originally premiered June 24 (encore July 1)
4) "Smells Like Team Spider"- Originally premiered June 24 (encore July 1)
5) "Memories of a Champion"- Premieres July 8
6) "Spider Rider's Ball!"- Premieres July 15
7) "Princely Power-" Premieres July 22
8) "The Wandering Warrior"- Premieres July 29

Premieres will return on August 19 after reruns of episodes 5 and 6 in August.

Out of the lot of new episodes 'Spider Rider's Ball' and 'Wandering Warrior' are my favorites, but 'Princely Power' is awesome too. I found that 'Smell like Team Spider Rider' and 'Memory of a Champion' to be slightly dull compared to the rest. 'Spider Rider's Ball' is a Sparkle-centric episode, 'Princely Power' is Lumen-centric and 'Wandering Warrior' introduces a new character ^^.

Interesting thing to note... the Henshin sequence aren't always the same re=used stock footage. The transformation in episode 10 was brand new.

Hopefully more people will get to watch this time around.

I love the look of this show. No surprise that I loved the .hack series, either.

I enjoy the fact that as the show progressed the Hunter/Shadow relationship from the "I work alone!" thing to the not-quite-so-reluctant friends/partners relationship fairly quickly.

I'll continue to tune in. And the "Calling all Spider Riders" from the them is kind catch, too.

Yeah I like the English theme song a lot, it's a lot more 'unique' than the Japanese theme that sound like a reject theme for Digimon season 1 -.-.

And I too like how they didn't waste too much time on the 'I work alone thing'. Altough Shadow isn't always bice to Hunter when they're not in battles.

Loved the twist ending though. Sure we could see it coming that that girl was a Spider Rider, but she seems to be working on her own accord. Like to know the story behind that.

All in all, I'm getting a Monster Rancher style vibe from this show now and that's a good thing.

Huh...no... Hunter's mom is supposedly still in the outer world. That woman's been there for a while and never left for the outer world or had a child as far as we know.

I just noticed when I watched the rerun of the first ep, Shadow said 'killing machine' :p shows it's originally a Canadian 'dub', hehehe. I'm sure there is more use of the word 'kill' and 'dead'.

I'm really hoping that at some point during the 52 episodes Hunter, Corona and the gang end up going to the outer world. It seems to me like the whole Manacle Space system was invented so that Hunter could walk around a normal city without attracting attention with his ten foot battle spider XD

And yet Corona mentioned that she somehow felt like she knew Hunter before, plus there's all of those scenes the two share with each other kinda give off the "we're related" vibe. Besides, I don't find it that hard to believe. We don't really know much about Hunter's family life outside of the fact that his grandfather was researching the Inner World.

Personally I expect that it is reveal that Hunter's Grandfather was a famous Spider Rider and the manacle used to belong to him. In the book, from what I read, Shadow has a master named Darkness, maybe that could be the spider Hunter's Grandpa had. It would make more sense that, if Hunter has ancestry in the Inner World, it is his grandmother, or at the very least just an aunt or uncle.

Plus if Hunter had ancestry in the Inner World I don't think he'd be considered a full 'Earthen' no?

BTW, if someone wasn't paying attention, the mysterious girl with the Invectids is named Aqune (her name was revealed right last episode).

The plot is slowly advancing. I'm wondering what this "key" is they are hunting for. The kids worshipping the Spiders was a nice touch to.

Dude Lumen is sure one layed back Prince.

I can't figure out if Prince Lumen is really lazy or really brilliant. He defintley is biding his time, and he looks like he could have the strongest spider of them all, but at the same time the lack of him practicing shows he still needs to grow, and he defintley sleeps a lot more than signing paperwork. It was an overall good episode though.

Lumen is a funny character...he's lazy and he's playboy XD wait 'till episode 9 hehehehe.

I think Lumen is both brilliant and Lazy...sorta like Yoh in Shaman King of Taikoubou in Hoshin Engi (though Taikoubou was FAR more brilliant than Lumen or Yoh, combined, at least in the manga he is) and he's got a certain charisma that helps him lead. He's also pretty wise for a kid his age, otherwise the people wouldn't follow him.

He's calmed down a lot from when he first came, and he's slowly adjusting to his surrondings, but while he's been fighting the Invectids, I think he felt left out with no true purpose. Now he seems to have it. There are reruns the next 2 weeks though, but then we'll get two new episodes before the end of the month.

Brutus is my favorite Spider and Magma is my favorite Rider after Lumen :p altough he's more active.
