Okay. If I'm lucky, my friend will be trading me his Neo Geo (with four games, including a Japanese Metal Slug, two King of Fighters, and a Samurai Showdown, along with two controllers. Also, it's modded) for my PSP (with all the crap I bought for it. Worst purchase this decade).
Problem is, he hasn't found the AC plug.
It could be in another box, but if he can't find it... do y'all know of any sources for Neo Geo parts like that? What about another console's plug working (kinda like how you could use a Genesis controller to play Atari 2600)?

Considering how expensive the Neo geo was and how little it sold in America I'm doubting that anyone else is going to have the system here.
Anyways here's the site I used when I fathomed dreams of it that were crushed by Tin-whiskers

I'd buy spare parts personally, these things can short out and you'd just be left with a paperweight
honestly the NG Compilation sets that are coming out are just as good emulation-wise, the games costed well over 100 when originally released, and the secondary market is insane and single games can run the cost of a current console system. Compilations seem to be running 20-40 bucks(then again the US is getting a few so importing costs will not be a factor)

Given the status of some of the members on here (well educated and collector), it's worth a shot.

Yeah, but they're not...
A) The Originals
B) Collectible
C) As Awesome To Own

I dunno about collector's value, I mean resale return value is rather iffy, MISB items fetch the highest but you never play them. Goes for Action Figures and Games, re-issues and compilations for both lower the price a good bit.
I pretty much like the compilations because I just wanted to play the games in an accetable legal form

Chad, your best bet would probably be these guys:
http://www.pinkgodzillagames.com/seattle/index.html
They carry rare and hard to find games, including import titles. If they curently don't have what you're looking for, e-mail them about it and I'm sure you'll be first on their list when they get one in.

I had heard of Pink Godzilla being a brick-and-mortar store before...
Man, I had a weird ass dream that I had a freakish cartridge/CD combo Neo Geo that was styled like the US Master System and friggin' huge.
... huh.

Chad, I'll dig through some boxes this weekend to see if I have an extra cord for ya. No promises though because I think I only have the one that goes with my set. And don't even bother asking, no you can't have that cord. Or my set.

Well, hell, he may have the cord. This guy's not the easiest to get in touch with. (I've been trying to get the Neo Geo since February, and trying to get rid of my PSP since last summer).

Then why'd ya ask, ya goof? When you know if you need a cord, let me know... Sam knows how to reach me if I'm MIA from TZ.

If you're not doing this specifically with the intent to collect the Neo-Geo AES cartridges (which can get insanely expensive), I'd recommend going with a supergun and an MVS arcade board, instead, just because the games are generally so much cheaper.
Of course, you could get an MVS-to-AES adaptor for the home console, but collectors often howl their heads off about compatibility problems with those.

I'm just doing this, as any console I don't own is an improvement from the PSP I DO own.
I'll probably be picking it up tomorrow night. If I need the power cord, we'll see...

Meh, MVS > AES... For sure. But since you're getting an AES for a PSP and some games, I wouldn't complain. Though some of the more rare games will rape your wallet, as opposed to the MVS versions.
