Just a thought, or rather a dream on a whim:
Tenchi uncut. That would bring pleasure to me, being a chaos monger and all, to leave in all the fun-fun-silly willy they cut out from the Toonami run. I mean, Look at it! It's on later than Cowboy bebop! Well, I know they won't. Oh, by the way, Giyagas bumped up my status to Starman Super. *Brandishes shiny new gold coat*
He is pleased with my response to 'shows you would like to see on AS' thread'

You'll probably never see Nudity on CN, but at the very least Tenchi should be able to stop drinking his "tea" now. And Outlaw Star should get it's blood and language back, maybe even the "lost" Hotsprings episode (with digital swimsuits of course ;) ).

But sweet mercy, that schedule rocks!

Yes. Yes it does. :) I just saw this over on the Adult Swim board also. There seems to be some debate over whether this will be branded as Toonami or Adult Swim. I would actually hope it gets the AS name, so they can go with less editing.

I don't think anything will change Toonami or Adultswim... I'd rather have it branded Toonami, and have Moltar as host...Since CB isn't being reedited...Ehm.

Awww...crap. They're all TVY7 (except for CB).

So much for there being less edits. :(

At least some stuff Toonami was sitting on for so long will finally see the light of day (Pilot Candidate & Gundam 0083) & there's some new stuff as well. It'd be great if this new block gets the Toonami name, it kinda be like the original Midnight Run that used to air Sat. nights way back when.

There's no saying they won't be less editted, actually.

They only have TV-Y-7 ratings because that's the rating they've always had in the Database, and the scheduler is done mechanically, I think, so they had no way to change it. Or at least, they didn't know that it might have a different rating.

I should've have mentioned this in my previous post, but I got to thinking that this new block, whatever it turns out to be, would have been an ideal place to give Mobile Suit Gundam a complete run. I don't really have any problems with the line-up, but it would've been nice to see MSG somewhere. Outlaw Star has gotten something around a million runs by now, you think instead of going down that road again they'd take another shot at MSG. If Outlaw Star, Tenchi etc. were somehow less edited at least then it would make more sense to run them again.

Great news. Just last week we were talking about how CN continued to tear hours away from Toonami and now we get this :D

Although I wish they'd stop giving Outlaw Star the DBZ treatment (repeating it a billion times), it is great to finally see Candidate for Goddess and Gundam 0083 on there.

How do you think they'll handle CB though? It won't be adult swim hour. I sure hope they don't re edit it  And I wonder if it'll have the AS continuity or start from the beginning...

They were planning on cutting down the CB hour to a half hour on AS in the future, so it would've happened regardless.

Who says it won't be Adult Swim?

Who says it's going to be Toonami?

CB is continuing the run it had on Cowboy Bebop, the first week of Saturday being part 1 of Real Folk Blues and the next week being part 2.

Don't care where it goes really, so long as we get to see some new action shows in general :D :) :D

The one that intrigues me the most (besides Gundam 0083 and Pilot Candidate) is Yu Yu Hakusho. I don't know a thing about it, other than having a yaoi following that rivals that of Gundam Wing  :o

Someone care to hook me up with the basics on the story?

Eh...Yaoi following? Well...I know Sina will love it...

"Ghost Files: Yu-Yu Hakusho" is about a boy(Yasuke) who's sort of a bully at his junior high school, die to having a rough childhood under an alcaholic and abusive mother.

One day he spots a child about to be hit by an oncoming car. He pushes her out of the way and is killed. When he wakes up, he finds himself in the Spirit World, being led by Botan, a messanger, to the ruler, King Yama. By twist of fate, the King is on vacation, and his son Koenma is in his place.

Sensing Yusuke's self-less bravery, he grants Yusuke a second life, as long as he takes the role of a "spirit detective", which basically means 'kick demon ass'.

Yu-Yu Hakusho has had an average 20 million viewers per episode in Japan. The only show more popular than Yu-Yu was Dragonball Z. It was also ranked #6 of the Top 100 Animes List put out by Brutus(a popular Japanese mag).

Yes, it could be called Adult Swim as well, but I never really thought that name went well with action shows and anime. Sounds kind of corny? I know, it's a deterent, so little kids don't watch (but that doesn't stop them). However, it's interesting to note that "DBZ" isn't on the list. YES.

I just want it to have the Toonami name to show that Toonami can show mature shows and isn't to be associated with KWB's Toonami block.

I think Adult Swim has always wanted to have action shows as well as comedy shows.

But it would be hard to fit action and comedy in the same night, so they split off into two different nights. One with comedy and one with action.

Considering Mission Hill and Oblongs will fit in the 12 and 12:30 slots of Sunday, it makes sense, kinda.

By all that is holy and just, I need my cable back now! Luckily it should be back on by the end of January :D . Such wonderful recording opportunities. This, along with Fox Kids bringing out new shows and the rest of their current one, plus ABC Family announcing their new blocks, I might need a new VCR because my old one will break down. And here I almost thought that animation on tv was almost a lost cause. Well, it kinda is on regular tv, but that's beside the point.

Just as a side note, could someone fill me in on what I've missed on CN so far? I had to cut the cable on Sept 11th (no joking, it went out on that day. Fine time to be without CNN, huh), and all I was able to get was the first episode of the new DBZ season, MSG up to ep 25 (I think), and DB around episode 15. Tell me if I'm missing anything from this list of things I've missed:

1. DBZ season 5 (which people have been raving about)
2. the rest of Mobile Suit Gundam
3. Gundam 0080 (please tell me they'll rerun it someday)
4. the three Sailor Moon movies
5. Reboot season 4
6. Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim (I only made it up to ep 4, but it didn't record the last one correctly)
7. Justice League
8. Batman Beyond's final episode (I have most of the episodes from Kids WB, but I needed to re-record some, and finish some others. I still don't have the first two episodes in their entirety)
9.Zoids (from all accounts, a show that I'd like a lot)

Is that all? Is it even possible for me to dream of catching all those missed episodes again?

A TV-14 surrounded by a bunch of Y-7 seem rather odd, doesn't it? (just bringing up the possibility the other shows will be TV-PG when the actually air)

Also keep in mind Williams Street is not best known for being on schedule with what the schedule says at first.

Killtacular

I imagine Williams Street had this planned, but the CN spreadsheet database had always given the Toonami episodes TV-Y-7 up to now. Since the schedules are processed automatically, Williams Street probably didn't change the ratings on the computer in time.

It's also difficult considering it would then show that rating for ALL SHOWINGS. Like, if they changed the rating for Tenchi from TV-Y-7 to TV-PG, all showings including the afternoons would have that rating.

I think WS will have to create separate show names to change the ratings. If you saw New Years Eve-il's tv schedule at CN.com, you'll notice the show name of GW was "Gundam Wing(UNEDITTED)" instead of just "Gundam Wing".

Mobile Suit Gundam: You didn't miss much. Not coincidentally it was taken off on 9/11 and hasn't been back since. Except for only showing the final episode during New Years Evil (which, I must say, kicked serious booty).

0080: They haven't announced a rerun date but I seriously doubt it's gone for good.

That's pretty much everything except maybe for New Years Eve-il (though MSG was the only new thing they showed).

Adult Swim is the official brand for this block. So, I'll close this thread.

So, Outlaw Star is being removed from Toonami, and perhaps Tenchi will too(I can't see far enough into the schedule to know). But there is still plenty of stuff coming to Adult Swim.

Right in February, the next season of Dragonball begins, and sometime in summer or fall, Dragonball Z will bring forth a new season as well.

And there's always the chance for shows like Big O to come back for a limited time.

So don't get depressed. Hell, enjoy the fact that anime is getting better respect! Toonami started the Revolution, and now Adult Swim is achieving that Revolution. :)
