Has anyone picked this up at a Circuit City location? Over at Cirucit City there's an animation cel in each of the new DVDs. The flyer said you get a 4 pack of cels with purchase, but that's wrong. So, I'm wondering which cel was in this DVD.

I was going to put this in the BA movie thread but I thought the DVD one might make more sense since the names can be pulled off the DVD end credits. What is the cast list here and was their any reason ever given why both Clancy Brown and Corey Burton were replaced as the voice actors for Lex & Brainiac respectively? Were they unavailable, too expensive (not likely since they used Powers Boothe) or do they have something against actors with the initials CB? Is there anything on the DVD about this?

Thanks!

More than likely it had to do with the new attitudes of the characters. Not to say the old ones couldn't adapt to the new roles but they probably just wanted to start fresh.

Why'd they replace the Penguin's voice in Mystery of the Batwoman? They wanted to "go a different way," I'd assume.

I have no idea why they replaced Burton, except maybe they wanted some extra "star power" in the voice cast. Replacing Brown has a rationale behind it, if not one the fans will like. No doubt most of you noticed how "different" Luthor acted in Brainiac Attacks, as least with regards to what the previous ten years of DCAU continuity had established for the character. He was camping up all over the place in this movie, and I think that was a deliberate decision to bring the character more in line with the Gene Hackman interpretation of the character from the previous movies. Considering that Kevin Spacey is practically channelling Hackman for Superman Returns, Warners obviously wanted the character to behave more like that, and maybe felt Brown's voice wasn't right for that kind of delivery.

I've heard it was a payment dispute... atleast for Brown. No idea when it comes to Burton.

Burton was not contacted to reprise his role, according to his website (someone help me cite this).

Clancy Brown could definitely have pulled off goofy Lex, if his performance in Great Brain Robbery is any indication.

There isnt even a scene selection.

Ironically, the only good thing about this release is that they have the nice DVD casing.

On the upside, I don't believe there's any plague-ridden rats included in the purchase. That's a good thing.

A friend of mine told me there was supposed to be an animated Superman lithograph set included in the purchase of this DVD.
I guess WB felt bad that the DVD has no special features like their other DVD's usually do.
I didn't buy this DVD so I don't know for sure, she showed me lithographs and those are cool, except they are too small, they have to be to fit into a DVD case.
