Who do you think were good choices for voice actors to play characters after dubbing? For me, I think Roy Mustang, Itachi Uchiha, Mr. Satan, Usopp, Orochimaru, Alex Armstrong, Monkey D. Luffy, Envy, Sanji, and Bon Clay were all good choices.

Sanji

You fail.

In no way was sanji ever meant to be a brooklyn gangster with a perpetually stuffy nose. EVER.

While we're at it, why not give Zoro a thick hispanic accent and make Nami a Valley Girl.

Is quite a shame, since I agree on all the others.

I hate Sanji's voice in the dub but I have to disagree with you about Zoro, he might sound better with an accent. Remember in the original version Zoro speaks non-standard Japanese that almost comes off like an accent (even if it is not). Plus with the way Kazuya Nakai voices him, Japanese Zoro already kind of sounds Hispanic; at least I feels he does. But I guess it really is a matter of opinion.

I demand Brad Garret do more voices.

He is pure VA gold.

I kind of like Moo as Sanji. I started with the comic, never watching Sanji in Japanese, and when the botchery came around, I liked Moo as Sanji, fit the face. Now it's the director who needs some changes. Oh and maybe if Moo didn't try to sound like his Sanji voice when yelling, you know, going out of character, things might sound a little smoother.

I like Sean Schemmel as Goku (DB/Z/GT), Maile Flanagan as Naruto, Steve Staley as Neji, Steve Blum as any bloody role he does play, Yuri Lowenthal as Sasuke, Kate--Ok, I like the whole Naruto dub cast. All of 'em! Believe it!!

Brad Swaile as Amuro Ray, loved him in that role. I also really liked the Westwood Char as well, really swab, like James Bond or something. Westwood Mirai and Bright were also nice voices on the ears.

Let's see, a little off topic, but...I think Justin Cook would make a great Luffy. *Cough*

Oh, lemme see, Dan Green does a good Atem on YGODM, and if only he would let Yuugi's voice be a bit deeper, it'd be better. Matthew Erikson also does a good Van Flyheight, and a pretty good replacement for Brad as Amuro Ray in the Zeta Gundam dub.

Liked Mark Gatha as G Gundam's Domon, too!!

I'm gonna make my leave now, time for bed.

Roy - Travis Willingham is the freak'n man

Itachi - He doesn't have a full VA yet, it was just a substitution but I'm sure he'll be great. The substitute was good.

Mr. Satan - Good IMO, fits the character well

Usopp - Jason Griffin is horrible

Orochimaru - It's different but it works

Armstrong - Fantastic, Sabat really sells him

Luffy - Acceptable, took a while to get used to but besides direction it's a good voice

Envy - Also good, rather strange but works well for Envy

Bon Clay - Sounds like Audrey 2, I guess that's the joke but honestly I don't like it

Sanji - The heck man, that's the worst voice I swear I've ever heard

If I may just take a moment to bang my cane on the floor and turn down my hearing aid, you young whippersnappers don't know how good you have it these days. Try to imagine what it was like to call yourself an anime fan in the '80's, when we had to endure the voice acting of shows like Voltron, Defender of the Universe and TranZor Z to see cool anime visuals. The quality of voice acting since then has improved exponentially. I would have given my left testicle to have voice actors like Steve Blum, Crispin Freeman, Laura Bailey, Sonny Strait, and the English cast of Naruto back then. I've learned from experience that even if a dubbed character doesn't sound exactly the way I imagined he should, I owed it the VA to at least give him a chance before I judge. I've been pleasantly surprised more than once.

Veronica Taylor, Lisa Ortiz, Eric Stuart, Rachel Lilis and the rest of the well known New York crew can perform VA gold WHEN they are well directed (i.e. not by 4Kids Voice Directors) even if you can easily recognize their voices unlike others... they act well ya know.

Dan Green's also pretty good as Knuckles on Sonic X. Fits his personality quite well without making him sound too much like Dan's YGO roles, unlike most of his other voice acting roles.

And I'm probably the only one in existance that tolerates most of the Kirby dub voices.

Most people's problems with kirby stem from the original series and not the dub.

I myself was interested in seeing a show about Kirby, only to find out that Kirby was Mute, had the intelligence of a two year old, and played second-fiddle to Lemming siblings.

Oh yeah, um.. VA's. steven Blum and wendee lee are great, as is crispin freeman. Joshua Seth was cool too but it seems he moved on to other things.

Hey, I like the Kirby anime. It's a personally fave of mine. ^_^

But yeah, I didn't have much problems with the dub cast either... Well, except for Blade Knight... He had a horrible voice and sounded nothing like he does in the original...

I didn't think of them at the time; but I think Damein Clark played a great Scar in the first 25 episodes, but I really didn't like how he did the later voiceing in the show. I also think Gaara has a good Voice actor, but I would like to hear how he makes the demon Gaara (featured in my avatar) sound.

While I think Tony Oliver sounds like a geek as Lupin and Lex Lang is a total mismatch for Goemon, Richard Epcar is perfect as Jigen. If only he could've doubled as Goemon! His portrayal of Goemon in the 2000 Manga dub of Cagliostro was the closest anybody's ever gotten to Goemon's original Japanese voice in an English dub outside of the 1978 Mamo English dub, and personally, I like Richard Epcar's work far more than Lex Lang's. Jake Martin is a good match for Zenigata, too, weird accent aside.

Steven Jay Blum - I believe I mentioned before that this guy is the Samuel L. Jackson of voice-acting, because he's in everything AND he's a bad MOFO! (EVERY US cartoon/dubbed anime, lol)

David DeLuise - I first heard him in Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles and I mistook him for Scott McNeil. Anyhow, David played a very convincing gearhead-turned-mech-pilot in Megas XLR! (Coop, from Megas XLR)

Wendee Lee - Her performance in Cowboy Bebop impressed even the original creator and she would be perfect as Chopper if she used her TK voice! (Faye, from Cowboy Bebop; Young TK, from Digimon)

Chris Sabat - Debuting in season three of DBZ, Chris has gone from imitating Ocean Studios voice-actors, to finding his own voice. My favorite roles of his are DBZ's Vegeta and Armstrong, from FMA! (various characters from DBZ; Armstrong, from FMA)

Sean Schemmel - Just like Chris Sabat, he got off to a rocky start in DBZ. For a while, it sounded like he had cotton in his mouth when he spoke. Oh, and let's not forget the infamous "Kamehame-DUMP!" Eventually, he became THE voice for the heroic Super Saiyan! (Goku, from DBZ)

David Moo - YES, I LIKE HIM! SO WHAT?! At least he keeps Sanji's attitude intact! If you wanna blame anyone for ruining Sanji, then blame whoever told him to give Sanji the accent! I believe that David would sound much better without the accent, but at least the guy's trying, which is more than I can say about Kayzie Rogers, who is totally screwing up as Vivi! (Sanji, from One Piece)

Kevin Michael Richardson - He's done many voices in his career and most likely, you've heard him before! Everytime you hear a deep, funky, soulful voice in a cartoon, you're hearing Kevin! Powerpuff Girls fans probably know him best as the Boogieman! (TOO MANY cartoon voices to count)

Grey DeLisle - Words cannot express how incredibly talented she is! If you ask me, when it comes to voicing a ridiculous amount of animated characters, she's the new Tress MacNeille! (STILL TOO MANY cartoon voices to count)

Rob Paulsen - Correct me if I'm wrong, but he doesn't seem to be as active as he was years ago. Still, he oozes charm by truckload in ALL of his roles! He was also the voice of Raphael in the original TMNT cartoon! (LOTS of 90's WB cartoons and more)

I also think Gaara has a good Voice actor, but I would like to hear how he makes the demon Gaara (featured in my avatar) sound.
As I recall I liked the bits I've heard of Scar's dub, I just didn't remember to mention him in my list.
I thought Gaara sounded decent in the dub, but I love Gaara and love his Japanese voice, so maybe I had a bias I didn't fully silence or something in this instance. I think the dub voice had the right idea and tone going, but not enough of that 'emotionless emotion' he has, so to speak. I haven't heard much of it, though, so it could just be I heard a lesser bit of his performance. As for 'demon Gaara', what are you talking about? Is that a bad translated thing about the dub or the Viz manga? I recall absolutely nothing about 'demon Gaara' in the uncut Japanese version of the anime, especially from your avatar. Your avatar is from his fight with Rock Lee in the Chuunin Exam preliminaries, the closest I can think of to something of a 'demon Gaara' is his Shukaku monster form we see somewhere in the range of eps 70-80 or something. But I believe Shukaku had something to do with a false god of sand or something, not being a demon of some kind.

I didn't know he dubbed anime, I just knew him as the Joker in The Batman series. For some reason I never made the connection between his Joker and Boogieman voices, but then PPG watching is kind of not what I do nowadays, so...

I really can't think of many in the long run, but I'll list what comes to mind.

-Howl, Sophie (young and old), and Witch of the Waste in Howl's dub were excellent. Billy Crystal Calcifer was very good in its own right.
-Johnny Yong Bosch was a perfect English Vash the Stampede. Wolfwood, Knives and Legato were also pretty good for my memory.
-Lupin's series dub voicer did a very good job for my memory, and Jigen and Goemon seemed good. Zenigata's was great in its own right. Not accurate enough to the Japanese voice, but still pretty hilarious and loveable.
-I liked Spike and Jet's English voices in Bebop, but I'll have a more conformed opinion once I see it in Japanese.
-Saya and Takemaru's voices were excellent in Inuyasha's 3rd movie dub. Kaguya also had a very good voice in the 2nd Inuyasha movie (she did a great job chanting those Japanese spells)

Steven Blum and Wendee Lee were awesome in Bebop, as well as Jet's VA. A lot of FMA's were good, too.

I'm gonna go ahead and mention Azumanga. Most of the voice actors were rather...bleh, but I though Monica Rial and Luci Christian were good as Nyamo and Yukari. Yomi's was pretty good, too.

It's funny how this anti-4Kids prejudice from fans spreads to the VA's, who are freelancers and good in their own right. Everyone has to qualify it "when they're not working for 4Kids" statement. It's kind of lame to think that passing through the halls of 4Kids' studios sours an actor's ability to perform.

Yes, and you need to remember that the majority of the time when Eric Stuart works on a 4Kids project, he IS the voice director. Ain't it strange how things like that work?

You know, I gotta give it up for Johnny Yong Bosch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Yong_Bosch#Anime). After doing some investigating on a bet if Vash and Ichigo were the same VA, I found out he was the second black ranger from Power Rangers. It took me a while to get past that; but after seeing that he's played Vash and Ichigo, I'm rather impressed by his talent.

Steve Blum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Blum#Anime_Roles) has down some really kick ass work too. He made a kick as Spike.

Mark Hammill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Hammill#Animation) has really evolved since the Star Wars days as well. Most noteable, his role as Joker probably has made the best Joker to date.

I would personally pay good money to see this made:

A gangster anime where they use the voices of the following actors:

Robert De Niro
Al Pacino
Samuel L Jackson
Ben Affleck
Leonardo Decaprico
Matt Damon
Andy Garcia
Martin Sheen
Charlie Sheen
Sofia Coppola.

These would make me want to see this again and again.

Well maybe not the Sheens but still, better than Baldwins.
