Now the rest of this post will be put into talking about MY favorite character in Tenchi and for all other anime.

Dark Spider Comment- My Love For Kiyone

From the title of this section, you could determine that my choice in the poll is Kiyone. I will list the reasons why I like her.

1. First off, I think she's attractive. She has a pretty face and hair, even with the headband. Also she looks cute in her "off-duty" look (especially the checkered dress!)

2. I like her personality. Even though she has that stressed out, annoyed personality that most people tend to hate, I like it. I believed that stressed out people in the end will turn out into a strong person, and I like strong people :) . And sometimes Kiyone is known to have her soft, tender moments; Like that time in "Tenchi in Tokyo" when Kiyone and Mihoshi got their own apartment, I nearly cried at the end because it was really touching. Even though Kiyone may be annoyed by Mihoshi and be real hard on Mihoshi, but that episode just proved that she has a special place in her heart for Mihoshi. That moment, in my opinion, was when Kiyone was at her best, and when I really started falling for her.

3. She's funny. I think she's a very great comedy relief. Her and Mihoshi really know how to get people to laugh. They have great chemistry together, that's why they are partners against crime!

There are a whole lot of more reasons why I like Kiyone, but I can't remember them now.

If you are reading this, it may sound like I'm about to marry Kiyone (I really wish I could :o ), but I'm just telling you why I like her so much. She IS my favorite female anime character after all. :)

She always has been my favorite Tenchi characters. And thats one of the reasons why the OVA actually is my least favorite of the Tenchi-verses....no Kiyone! Besides the Mihoshi special, though.

She is just the coolest Tenchi character ever!

Tsunami! :D

Reason? Well, aside from the fact that she is a Goddess, and her physical beauty surpasses any of the other Tenchi girls (Ryoko and Ayeka conceded this fact). *Whips out Tenchi Muyo OVA RPG Resource book* "Tsunami is extremely gentle, kind and caring, the epitome of the perfect mother." So she has a Belldandy thing going for her. Unlike Belldandy, however, she doesn't seem to have a problem with using her power to kick some butt (She did attack the Souja), and the promise of a "Goddess War" in OVAIII spells more Tsunami action. :D Then, of course, you have her space ship form. Having the most powerful Battleship in the entire universe at your command would be a major perk. One of the scenes which was cut from the original Tenchi OVA series, when Tsunami is caught in Souja's tractor-beam thing, Sasami asks her if she could break free from it. She responded "Well, that is possible, but the result of my doing so would destroy everything within 100 light-years." Now that's destructive power! :D

So in the end, we end up with an uber-powerful divine babe with an ideal personality by CC's book. ;)

All those blindly obsessed Ryoko fans (none have posted here yet, but I'm sure they're coming) have to give the GP Girls their due. They're tough, selfless, and confident, and ready to take on the world even though they can't fire energy beams and teleport through walls.

Picking between Mihoshi and Kiyone was a tough choice, but in the end I went with the green-haired goddess (how else do you explain the fact that she was out in the vacuum of space with absolutely no protection sans her GP uniform, yet was not only able to stay alive, but to shout at the top of her lungs that she was going to kill Mihoshi?). Sure, it's easy to fall for the ditzy blonde types, but every time you do, nothing but trouble will come of it. :bosko:

I'm a big Nagi,Ryoko,Washu,Kiyone,and Ayeaka fan but my vote will have to go to...Nagi, you know what i mean see Tenchi Universe episode 20 she is very hot in a bikni. In 2nd place for me is all the girls expect for Mihoshi. I just hate Mihoshi. But Ryoko,Nagi,Washu,Kiyone,and Ayeka are my fave girls.

I looked up Kiyone on the internet and a whole TRUCKLOAD of website appeared before my eyes. I'm jealous now because apparently I'm not the only Kiyone fan. I didn't know she had THAT big a fanbase.

AH, I remember the day I first got a hold of my Tenchi Muyo videos way back in December of 1994. I was home from the military on holiday leave and my long dormant anime fandom, which sadly had not been satisfied since the days of Battle of the Planets , Voltron , Tranzor Z , and Star Blazers (and I mean way back in the days that they first ran on TV). I had just rediscovered anime and at the time I only had Ranma 1/2 (and a single issue of Animerica ) comfort me. So there I was in a music store in my local mall looking for some good hip hop tracks, when I saw the complete (at the time) set of Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki , parts 1 thru 6 and the Special. Now here's the odd bit, at the time I had not heard of Tenchi in any way, shape, or form at all, yet without hesitation I quickly snatched up episodes 1 - 6 (I went back and got the special a.k.a. episode "7" at a later date). Later on that night (much, much later ;) ), I sat down and watched them all back to back. I loved it!, Every character portrayed perfectly. I loved all of Tenchi's girls. I could never choose one over any of the others. Each one has that something that makes you love them. Ryoko's blantant sexuality, Aeka's vulnerabilty, Sasami's innocence and playfulness, Mihoshi's ummm.... and Washu's crazyness. I say if you put all of their best qualities together, then you'd have the perfect woman. But only if you use them all, leaving any one of them out just wouldn't be right in my humble opinion...

It doesn't really matter, they all have the same personality (kinda). If you are gonna vote for Ryo-Ohki, just post which version you like. As for me, I like the cabbit version as it brings the best laughs. But the small child version was so cute, especially when it did that "Twinkle Twinkle Little Spider" bit with her hands, trying to impress Ayeka and Sasami's father. (Tenchi Muyo! OVA Episode 13)

Side Note:
Darn you Ryoko, you're getting way too close to the lead (as of 01/21/01)!!! Kiyone is #1 and always will be :) !

Well, I can give you my reasons for liking her so much...

1. Her personality. She seems so different from the rest of the clan. Everyone seems to be so crazy and off the wall, but Kiyone's mellow, focus on the objective, attitude sticks out from the rest and shines.

2. Yes, there may be times where her character is bland, but that is part of her personality and what makes her different from everyone else... and special also. Then there are times she isn't so bland...namely around Mihoshi. Here comedic talents are exploited here and makes her quite a funny character.

3. In my opinion, Kiyone is MUCH MORE better looking than Ryoko, especially with her calm, down to earth, greenish blue hairstyle. So much more better than Ryoko's "Wild Man" silver hairstyle.

If your comparing my reasons to "Tenchi in Tokyo's" Kiyone, please don't. They completely ruined Kiyone's character in favor of making her as crazy as Ayeka. But her personality stayed intact though...at least they did something right.

I was reading through the past entries and I found this little nugget up above. I posted that on 01/27/02 and I was very mad that Ryoko won the poll. She won with 12, while 2nd place Kiyone got 11. But magically the poll has been revived and guess who's in the lead now? Why, its KIYONE!!!

So I learned 2 things from this:
1. A poll is never dead until it is erased from the boards.

Orantahl still doesn't have the real Kiyone! I made also went back in time and replaced baby Kiyone with a clone and Oranthal took that one. Yep, Kiyone wasn't stolen and was able to grow up and have a wonderful life (before Mihoshi came in at least :rolleyes: ). I still have Kiyone...

it is funny that you mentioned Mihoshi because in the present, i took Mihoshi's brained and secretly inserted it into the your Kiyone when you went back in time. although you have Kiyone's "real" body, you should have noticed that your Kiyone is kind of ditzy and eats and sleeps a lot. while my Kiyone is just a clone, she has the real brain of Kiyone. and because i am such a genius, i made the clone to live a long and healthy life. and one more thing, i poisoned your Kiyone so that her DNA will break down within the hour. and there are no more Kiyones except the one that is with me, but you do not want to make a clone of clone.

there is no way your weapon can penetrate my silver body so don't even bother trying. i should warn you however, with that type of attitude, employers will be hesitant to hire someone with such a short fuse. maybe you should attend an anger management seminar or seek professional counseling. Tell me about it, and I think I know why too. You see, this was one of the earliest threads here on this board. All the people that has been here since January have already posted in this thread. Then this thread has been resurected about 2 times now, each by newcomers, but since the oldcomers have already posted and they want to contribute to the thread some more...why not have fun? So we are having fun. There are still newcomers that haven't voted and they are voting, but in the process the oldcomers are still contributing to the thread in creative ways.

Wow this thread is too popular. This is the only thread I've seen resurrected 2 times from the dead. Plus over 90 people have voted on it. I guess you can all thank me for creating such a cool topic. :D

If your powers are what you say they are which is that of the Silver Surfer's powers then you CANT withstand the blast from the Angel Arm and even if you do i've got one more secret weapon up my sleeve
