Those are all cable channel.
I guess we'll have a battle of the Cable Channels and a battle of the Network Channels.
There is no war, KWB! new show Spider Riders eliminates all other challengers in this "war".

I hope so XD just for the sake of more Canada-Japan co-production (I wouldn't mind getting on that action m'self :p )
It seems the networks are getting back from the terrible blow they suffered from the cable specialty channel recently.

To throw out my two cents on this (and make this a somewhat-coherent/relevant thread):
ABC and Kids WB will probably be the main broadcast TV ratings champs, dueling it out for first place.
Fox (which is still airing the cartoons, not My Network TV) will probably continue along the same path (since it's apparently sticking with more of the same...) and do (at best) as well as it did this year.
NBC and CBS probably duel it out for whatever audiences are left, barring a show on one of these two's new lineups being a surprise hit, which is doubtful. Hard to judge since NBC hasn't stated what its specific shows are yet...
PBS doesn't get into the ratings race, so isn't too relevant here; however, expect it'll continue giving the same decent shows it's done in the past. (Annoyed that my local PBS stations don't air "Cyberchase" except during the summer months...).

Unless it's a break out hit you wont be seeing Spider Riders on KWB this Fall on the CW. They're going non-anime and focusing on WB originals.

But PBS' schedule varies by station on weekends, which includes the PBS Kids Go block of shows including Arthur, Postcards from Buster, Maya and Miguel, Cyberchase, and the new FETCH! And is PBS Kids getting back from DIC Liberty's Kids?

in some states, my network tv might show 4kids tv instead of fox. so yea..

Also: PBS used to air on weekends from 2000-2004 a 3 hour and later 2 hour "PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch" block, only 1 show from the block - "George Shrinks" - still airs on most PBS Kids stations.

Actually, some Fox stations in some cities (not states) pawn off their 4Kids TV programming to some other station in town, so they can air more "lucrative" stuff (read: not kids shows) on Saturday mornings (infomercials, gardening shows, *anything* but kids shows...). Thus, depending on the town, it may be a (future) My Network TV station, or an independent station, or whatever...
Don't understand the logic myself (can't imagine gardening shows pulling in a lot of viewers), but guess that's the way it is (in my town, an independent station airs the 4Kids TV lineup).

 I'm afraid you'll have to back that up with a reference, to me, both "who" and "the one that wins" is singular.
I haven't seen much about Spider Riders, but it doesn't look promising to me. And as ABCkids/ Family looses Jetix to Toon Disney, those channels are wiped off my viewing map. The E/I stuff on PBS is not even on my radar.
Soo what shows are coming this fall?

I think it's a bit too early to think of the fall yet since 4KidsTV and CBS have only announced their shows and not a line-up, and NBC has only said they dropped Discovery Kids' rights and they have another company putting their line-up together.
If you asked me who's looking good right now, I'd probably tell you ABC Kids. I'm surprised they're making as many changes as they are, but they're the broadcast network that least needs them. 4KidsTV made gains on the girls' side of things... this season, they'll look to maintain that and get some boys back that they've lost over the years. Kids' WB switching to a schedule devoid of anime is a radical departure, but one some have been calling for for years... they still hold more than enough of a boys' audience to worry about turning off girls, but how much longer can that last? CBS is aiming in the right direction with their new Dic-powered block, aiming for the gender balance that has helped ABC Kids (04-05 season) and 4KidsTV (05-06 season), but all they have right now is projections... they have to not only bring kids to them, they need to get them to stay. And like I said, we can't make an opinion on NBC yet, but at this point, I'm assuming they will be sticking to 'having the block because the government requires it.'
I can't provide a full analysis until all the pieces are in place... we'll probably have a 'Saturday Morning Preview' thread like we did last August. But preliminarily... CBS has the most to gain this fall, WB could be hurting if their strategy backfires.

The author of this thread obviously didn't grow up in the 1980's, or he/she would know what REAL Saturday morning cartoon wars are, especially if you were going somewhere and had to decide what channel to set the one VCR to record!

It's never about viewers or ratings to these stations. It's about the MONEY -- first, foremost and always.
That gardening show puts more dollars in the station's coffers than any network program. Either by a local garden shop buying the time (in essence, an infomercial) or, at worst, the local station pocketing every dollar off the commercials sold in said show.
In a network show, the local station gets 1, maybe 2, 30-second slots to air a local commercial.

i'll do my predicitons
here was i believe final result from the fall ratings thread
kids WB
ABC Kids
4Kids TV
Discovery Kids on NBC
Nick Jr. on CBS
here is what i predict
1. ABC KIDS
With an anime-less kwb, and everyone else millions of viewers behind, and with new shows that get giganto ratings already on disney channel, expect this to be your champ next year
2. Kids WB(or whatever it got chhanged to, if changed at all)
Even if Pokemon was on a ratings decline, it still was one of the highest watched shows (if not the highest), this loss probally will cost them, but then again, a tricked out scooby, a new tom and jerry, a legion more heros, and maybe even monster allergy might keep the network #1 in childrens non-cable channels, but i think ABC has a good enough slate to make them lose this crown they've held for so many years
3. 4Kids TV
If 4Kds thinks they can be #1, i doubt it. With yu-gi-oh comming to the network with capsule monsters, the series will still tumble into the abyss, and the other qccquired shows are not looking that great either, and nor does the current slate of returning shows, expect it to keep 3 for sure, i guarentee it
4. Secret Saturday Morning Slumber Party
I bet this will edge out nbc easily, as a new programing block, it has some old shows that i would assume got some ratings durring their first airing(sabrina:the animated series) and if they can promote that dance dance revolution series well, thee ddr series could easily become #1 on the block, and maybe booster it eventually past 4kids tv
5. smart place for kids

Ah, those were the days! The days when the three primary broadcast network stations would carry Saturday Morning cartoons. I used to wait so eagerly for the Fall lineups to come out.

Wasn't sure if this news was big enough to warrant its own thread, so...
I remember seeing this reported by Yahoo! yesterday, but I can't seem to find the link. The above is from today's edition of Cynopsis! Kids, which you can read by clicking here (http://www.cynopsis.com/content/view/420/53/).
At the top of the year CBS and DIC Entertainment inked a 5-yr pact for DIC to produce CBS' Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party, a new kid's Saturday morning 3-hr programming block launching this fall. Those plans altered slightly yesterday as DIC and KOL, AOL's online service for kids, unveiled their new partnership to co-produce the Saturday morning block, which is now titled, KOL's Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party on CBS. DIC and KOL will also develop a corresponding website, content as well as programming for the block, both of which will launch simultaneously on September 16, 2006. KOL and DIC will co-produce the previously announced series Dance Revolution, a dance competition based on Konami's video game franchise Dance Dance Revolution. Dance Revolution will be hosted by Radio KOL DJ Rick Adams, who will continue to host his KOL radio show. Online programming for the KOL's Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party on CBS site will include games, program clips, behind-the-scenes features, and KOL will create PSAs focusing on healthy eating and featuring its animated character Princess Natasha, to run online and on-air.If anything, it seems more and more like CBS does want their Saturday morning programming to being meaningful and competitive again.

What war this friend game of tag is not a war. Go back to 86-87 if you want a war 06-07 is just a joke. I only wish i was old enough to fully appreciate was was going on and not thinking it was ever going to end lol. Damn in the 80s i couldn't keep it on one channel everything was must watch. Saturday mornings helped me develope the channel surfing/remote control skills I display with such ease today.

Those days could be reprised (brought back) if NBC, CBS, and ABC would start their Saturday morning talk shows at 6-8 a.m. (Eastern), then have the cartoons follow them at 8-Noon. After that, anything: Sports, informercials, movies, etc.

Unfortunately, it's not going to happen. Those morning shows pull in more ratings than cartoons did. Also, even if they changed the timeslot for the morning talk shows, the networks would likely still opt to show cartoons that kids already saw on one of the cable stations on a weekday evening.

IMHO, ABC is winning the war, but sadly i'm a child of the 80s and 90s and i dont think any of these new cartoons are even worth watching. To me, saturday morning cartoons is practually dead.
