:anime: Well this is it!!!May the very best Superman episode win. I vote for Legcy part two after giving it a very long thoughs.
For me this was betwen BNM, WF & Lecacy. BNM was an excellent alternate universe but not beyond that for me, WF was just great because Batman but considering this is a Superman show I had to go with Legacy and its amazing showdown between Supes and mr. Darkseid.

'The Late Mr Kent' will do for me. Besides a plot that actually involved Clark Kent for once, it shed some much needed light on Lois and Clark's relationship, as well as how Superman would handle being just Superman.
And it's difficult to beat the bleakness of that final scene. Chilling stuff there.

Late Mr. Kent it is. The bulk of Legacy part 2 (all that running around in the army base) didn't really sustain my interest much.

The Late Mr. Kent. It's really the only episode on the list that features Clark Kent/Superman in a clever, character-driven, self-contained episode.
Brave New Metropolis I wrote off because it features Lois and her relationship with Superman more than Superman himself. Legacy was epic and changed Superman, which for me doesn't represent the Superman series before the episode. World's Finest, even though categorized as a Superman episode, always felt like a Batman episode as well and I don't think Batman needs to be included. Stolen Memories would have been my next pick after TLMK because it was also a Superman-centric episode.

This was not an easy decision for me. So, I went for Brave New Metropolis. I feel it made a very interesting ep of where Lois got sucked into a parallel universe where Superman & Lex are partners! Great ep!:D
Id be VERY surprise if The Late Mr Kent wins as the best Superman episode ever. I consider it a good episode but not the best from STAS. It wouldnt be the episode Id like the whole world to know as the best of the series, despite of it being good. Cant believe either that Apokolips Now part 2 is not even part of the final poll!! Oh well, whatever, this is only my opinion :p

For some reason I went with The Late Mr. Kent, instead of Legacy Pt. 2, because that story focused on Clark's accomplishments more then on Superman's. :anime:

As I said in an earlier poll, The Late Mr. Kent is my all-time fave Supes episode, and I'm (again) thrilled to see it in an early lead. Won't win, though. Thanks for the moment though, fellas. :)

I went with The Late Mr. Kent as well. I enjoyed the roll of both Clark and Superman in the story and I liked how for the first time it really elaborated on how he feels about both his personas and how both of them played an integral role in the episode. I also really like the Lois/Clark relationship being developed and that ending scene never gets old.

I thought this would be a real nail-biter between The Late Mr. Kent and Legacy Part Two but The Late Mr. Kent is really pulling ahead early and quickly. It looks like we might have a winner with that episode.

Wow I'm surprised The Late Mr. Kent is in the lead. While I think it's the better epiosde I expected Legacy to be in the lead because it's more mindless fun and that appeals to more people.
Still I hope Mr. Kent takes this thing.

The Late Mr Kent. It's intelligent, witty, well paced and a story that breaks the mold in a subtle way. I'm happy to see it still gets such attention.

 :) Wow!!! Late Mr. Kent is in the lead! Well if it win, It's a well deserve winner. To me all 54 episodes of Superman is the best. I think it was the best Superman animated series ever, along with Batman The animated series. Here's hoping the MOD would do this again with Batman Beyond and the Justice League.

THE LATE MR KENT!!! FOR ME:)!!Altough I like the 3 part first episode of Superman, Apookoloyse Now and Legacy, The Late Mr Kent episode has got my vote. Not only does it focus on Superman as Clark but has the best chilling, most suitable ending put on a monster criminal for not only trying to kill Superman but tried killing him as Clark Kent. What I like about the ending is that when the criminal finally realizes that Clark is Superman, It's too late for him as he's about to be excecuted right at that moment:p .

I love The Late Mr Kent, and also think its one of the most beautiful episodes to look at. But it just doesn't reach( for me ) the levels Legacy does. I always thought the ending of TLMK was..well..contrived. It made no sense to me why all of a sudden he jumps to the conclusion that Clark is Superman. Never is he given any hints til the newspaper and Im supposed to buy that he solves the mystery of Superman in a way that would make Batman blush? fraid not for me. Legacy was one of the few episodes of Superman I saw before the DVD's came out, so that also helps me vote for it, its also has a scene storyboarded or directed( I cant remember which one he did  ) by BT himself( from what ive read ), and its quite brutal, I can see he went as far as he was allowed to with that final fight. So Legacy part 2 for me, and Im suprised its starting to sort of make a small comeback. And that last scecne on the Daily Planet wioth him listening to everyone bad mouth him after a few years of saving their lives, thankfully for him Lois was there or else he mightve just left to the fortress never to be seen again. And its finally nice to see that she kisses him, after 54 episodes she only kisses him once.

I went with Lagacy p2, IMO it is not only the best of S:TAS, but it is one of the best of the DCAU

This was hard. Three episodes of which I voted for are in the running. And one of them is winning. The Late Mr.Kent was a very intense episode for both Clark and Superman. World's Finest Pt. 1 was one of the best DCAU episodes ever. When you get Batman and Superman together in the same room, you get one hell of a show. But I'll go with Legacy Pt. 2. This was a great episode all around. No doubt about it. Darkseid is the ultimate DCAU villain. That fight between those two was great.

For me its no question, The Late Mr. Kent was by far the best episode ever produced by Superman: The Animated Series. Don’t get me wrong all the episodes in this finale round are some of the best of what the Superman: The Animated Series did, each one of them tell a unique story that gave us a new look at The Man of Steel. But for me The Late Mr. Kent is an episode that just sticks in your mind like only the best episodes of the DCAU. Every thing about the episode impresses, the great dialogue, beautiful animation, a good mystery, a unique look at Superman would act without Clark and a haunting ending that will leave you stun for several minutes. The noir touch episode was also something that I enjoyed, and it has some of my most favorite lines of the Series.
CLARK: Luck. That's what it all boils down to, doesn't it? The smallest break one way or another. It can change a life or destroy it. And you can't fight it. No matter how strong you are.
CLARK: I suppose I could've flown to the governer as Superman and given him the disk, but that could've raised some awkward questions. Maybe there was some ego to it too. I wanted this to be Clark's victory. Not Superman's.
JONATHAN: It's not like he's really dead, Martha. He just can't be Clark anymore.
CLARK: But I am Clark. I need to be Clark. I'd go crazy if I had to be Superman all the time!
CLARK: So after I swam to shore, I guess I must've found a phone and called Lana.
LOIS: I don't believe it.. You're sitting here in the lap of luxury while I'm out there risking my neck!
LANA: He was recuperating. Poor thing, when I found him, he could barely remember his own name.
LOIS: But he certainly remembered yours. AND your telephone number.
LANA: Clark and I go back a long way. Are you... jealous?
LOIS: Yeah. Jealous of his endless luck.
BOWMAN: How did he survive that car bomb? How? HE'S SUPERMAN!

 Wow this is getting very intense! Legacy part 2 is five vote behind. I even wonder if it'll end with a tie like Batman episode with Heart of ice and Over the edge? I'm getting really exicted for both episode! Hey Raven who do you think will win?:)
:raven: Do you mind?

:D I just can't be one of five people who think that...c'mon folks!!!

t made no sense to me why all of a sudden he jumps to the conclusion that Clark is Superman.
I think it's because Clark does something that only a superhuman could do and because Clark looks exactly the same as Superman. Really, my most noticeable plot hole was that Detective Bowman is the only one to figure out his secret identity in that episode.

That's exactly my problem with it. Its too unbelievable that this old, fat, detective is going to figure out Clark is Superman when no one else is. That's completly bogus, Lois survives near death all the time and the one time it happens too Clark he goes Theres something not right? He must have Super powers!..give me a break. Thats the only reason i dont give it a perfect score and why I didn't vote for it. Lois knows Clark, she sees him everyday, she also sees Superman on a regular basis, Does she ever go up to him and say Hey you're Superman! No she doesn't yet a guy who meets him once finds this out..Bull.

Well yeah, it is kind of unbelievable that no one else ever figure out Clark’s identity in this episode. But if you look back to the comics this has been a complaint that has been voiced since the 1940s. How could Superman keep his identity a secret from a smart woman like Lois for over 50 years until he reviled his identity to her in the 90s? As for Detective Bowman figuring out Clark Kent is Superman, first of all the episode makes it clear that Bowmen is no idiot, especially considering what he did, pulling off framing a man for murder and doing so that it was able to pass the judicial system undetected, and planting bombs in both Clark car and apartment without being caught. And mean put your self in Bowmen’s mind the night he was executed, you have had months to do nothing but brood over your failure, you know Superman took a heavy interest in the crime you committed after Clark was supposedly killed, you read in the paper about the miraculously survival of Clark Kent, you remember the lack of reaction you received when call his mother to tell her that her son was killed, and most of all you know for a fact the power of the bomb you planted and that no one should have survived that explosion. What conclusion would you have drawn?
Despite the problem of why no one else figuring out who Superman is during this episode I still think it was the best story ever the Superman: The Animated Series ever came up with, and was done with a level of perfection that few other episodes in the series could even rival.

I love "the late mr kent" but when I see something to have a tribute made I feel like it should have a well known villain.I thought that "Apokolips... Now" part 2 would have made a perfect tribute.

Id be VERY surprise if The Late Mr Kent wins as the best Superman episode ever. I consider it a good episode but not the best from STAS. It wouldnt be the episode Id like the whole world to know as the best of the series, despite of it being good.
Intriguing! To me "The Late Mr. Kent" gives a gorgeous sum up of everything you can get from a Superman story. The characters, the unique action, the adventure, and the relationships, which is MY favorite aspect of this episode as mentioned above by another poster.
Although, it is on that similar vibe that I voted for Stolen Memories. No only was everything in this episode excellent, but it introduced Brainiac, and it does for the Clark/Kal El hybrid what "The Late Mr. Kent" does for Clark.
With "Stolen Memories," it's about the both of them, in a way, because we're helping him get back a piece of himself.
I had to go with The Late Mr. Kent. As much as I love Legacy, I love TLMK even more.
To think, when we started this poll, I was worried that it would be pointless because Apokolips... Now! Part 2 would wipe the floor with every other episode!

cant believe legacy is in 2nd place! The late mr kent is a good episode.
Since Legacy part 2 and The Late Mr kent are clearly the 2 finalists here, cuold anyone provide us with a breakdown of each episode? Sort of a list of cons and pros for each episode? I ask this because Legacy part 2 is my favorite episode and althou I consider TLMK a VERY good episode I cant seem to understand why its looking like the winner here. Somebody...please? :crying:

On the other--the site design is gonna be a pain in the ass. :p
