Hello. It occured to me that in Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Fire Red, Leaf Green, and in all of the Pokemon cards, Blain has a white overcoat with pinkish red tie. He also has circular eye glasses and a big white mustache. He is completely bald as well.

This is the only pokemon gym leader I really notice this with, but in the Pokemon Television Series, Blaine looks very different (once he takes off his disguise). In the Tv series he:

Has some grey hair (is not completey bald)
Does NOT have a mustache
He wears an organge and blue shirt without a white overcoat or a tie
Does NOT wear any glasses

Why do they have him look one way in all of the gameboy games and the cards, but another way on TV????? This has been driving me crazy for many years!

blaine has actually changed a lot, with his white coat bald mustache persona being the one they've stuck with. his original art work he wasn't that old and had some hair left as well.

I say once he takes his disguise off he looks close enough like him.

of course the labcoat persona is probably the best.

Thank you. So you're saying that he started off looking the way he did in the TV show and then the creators of Pokemon decided to change how he looked for the games and the cards? If so, then that explination makes sense. If not, why would they have all of the gameboy games and cards first and then make the TV show Blaine look different?

Well, the labcoat part was likely because he was involved with the creation of Mewtwo in the games (as well as a lot more serious). Since Blaine never worked for Team Rocket in either the games or the anime, however, the anime producers decided not to make Blaine a scientist (especially since MSB was coming out soon) so as not to confuse viewers, since Mewtwo was made by Dr. Fuji in the anime.

The glasses part was a part of his disguise, as well as the mustache. I guess the anime producers figured that having him keep those would make his disguise rather crappy. True, as it stands his anime counterpart looks way too similar to Pryce, but the anime producers probably didn't know Pryce would exist when they made that episode.

that only happened in the Special manga though,
I don't beleive there is any mention in the game(is there?), even if the Special manga is somewhat closer to the games. though it does make sense with the mansion being on that same island.
I guess I never really thought of his lab coat before, besides that maybe he maybe was just a Professor since he did like quizes so much ;D

now that I look at pictures the Anime blaine looks exactly like the original artwork blaine, even though by the time Ash got to that gym his labcoat bald persona had already become the standard one.

here are the wikipedia link to his article, the bulbapedia one has a picture of his original design though.

The the thing about Pokemon, as long as a character keeps a few major traits, you can do anything you want with them. (As long as Blaine's an old dude who likes fire-types, anything else is fair game)

You could even make him join Team Rocket or plot to destroy the North Pole.

It's been a while since I've played Red/Blue, but I do believe that Blaine was involved in creating Mewtwo. At least in part.
